Bell Drop Helmet

Whether you’re into pointing that front wheel downhill or more likely to push it against a starting gate, the new Bell Drop is what you’re going to want on your head. BMX, free ride, slalom, four-cross, or downhill—this is the gravity lid du rigeur. The hand-laminated Drop was designed from the ground up by the same team that created Bell’s now legendary Moto-8 motocross helmet, so you know it’s gonna rip. Certification to both the CPSC bicycle standard and the new ASTM downhill standard makes it one stout competitor.

Specifications:

  • Weight: 1048 g / 37 oz
  • Vents: 8
  • Certifications: ASTM F1952-00, CE EN1078, CPSC Bicycle
  • Usage: All Mountain, BMX Race, Freeride, MTB Downhill Race & MTB Slalom/4X

Technologies:

  • Hand Laminated Fibreglass Shell: Hand lamination is still the best way for our helmet builders to orient the fibreglass weave to create a shell that is both strong and lightweight in full face helmets.
  • Integrated Roost Guard: The moto-inspired Integrated Roost Guard helps deflect objects away from the rider's face.

This helmet conforms to, or exceeds EU Standards only.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great lid but not serious abuse ready A simple lid that delivers enough protection when not pushed hard. I have cracked mine when I tucked and rolled after a dodgy roll off. The paintjob is shabby, the visor mounting bolts are way too easy to damage, the lining is non removable and the chin strap is fiddly. The goggles sit on it pretty well but lack of side brackets is annoying. It is not brace compatible and I would simply describe it as a great full face entry helmet. I personally believe there are not enough vents on it which makes a pain to ride in the summer and a boil to shred in the winter. Great entry level lid- nothing else. 03 January 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Super low quality I bought this helmet and right out of the box it looked fishy. The paint is just bad and looks low end. I gave it a chance though and took it for a ride, after a few runs with some branches hitting my face I realized the paint in the visor was cracking and peeling off. later home I removed the side screws to have a closer look at it and when I tried to put it back I realized one of the nuts was loose inside the shell. long story short, it is badly manufactured and not worth buying. 15 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The most comfy i've tested I've tried the Urge down-o-matic and the POC Cortex Flow of which both were not comfy at all and returned. Now i've tried on the Bell Drop i'm amazed at the difference in feel. This thing is leaps and bounds ahead in comfort (for me anyway) compared to the Urge or POC. There are no additional pads allowing a better fit when compared to the Urge or POC but for me the Bell fits like a clove straight out of the box. Inner padding is removable on the Bell and more thought has gone into it for comfort when compared to the other two i've mentioned. Very happy customer here. 12 December 2012
