Rated 4 out of 5 by Work as you'd expect Works fine. The spindle hole is a millimeter or two oversized for a 22mm spindle, but the spider doesn't move anywhere when you clamp it down with the bolt. 14 May 2014

Diameter of axle hole

Please could you advise what the diameter of the crank axle hole is for this spider? I have a 3 piece crankset which uses a 20mm axle rather than 19, meaning the reducer provided won't work so I need to check that a reducer I already have will match the hole. Thanks

Answer:
Yes, this spider is designed to convert a standard BMX crankset to run a 4-bolt 104mm BCD chainring, which can be multi-speed or single speed as you prefer.

Answer:
Bolts are not included and the bolt length will depend on which chainring that is being used. If this information can be supplied to our Technical Department then we can certainly advise what is required -

HOW TO INSTALL THE CHAINRING PROPERLY?

REGARDING THIS SPIDER(BLACK SHEEP 4-BOLT), IS IT TECHNICALLY CORRECT TO FIX THE CHAINRING ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE SPIDER SO AS TO HAVE THE CHAINLINE CLOSER TO THE CENTERLINE OF MY FRAME? MY BIKE IS A BMX RACE.

Answer:
You can mount a chainring on whichever side of the spider gives you the best chainline; it would usually go on the outside face, but you can mount it on the inner if you prefer.
