Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous Bought this pump as design and build quality looked good. Also not the cheapest pump around for it's size so expected good things. I've never been able to get more than 40psi into the tyre, neither has anyone else in my club that has used it (including two experienced bike mechanics). Very awkward to hold onto the valve and high risk of damaging the valve. You need to switch to high pressure very quickly and after that the amount of air expelled each stroke means you may as well set up camp overnight as 8 people take it in turns to get you going. Gave up in the end and threw the thing in the bin on the way home. Won't be buying any more buying any more blackburn pumps!

Bought this pump when it was discounted to £9 and wish I hadn't bothered. Had it less than 12 months and only got one use out of it before the barrel seized and wouldn't release even with taking it all apart and putting some oil down the inside of the shaft. Even when it wasn't stuck it was hard to pump a MTB tyre up to any reasonable pressure (only wanting 30-40psi) and let loads of air out when attaching and dettaching. Also rattles around in the cage when going over rough terrain which is really annoying. Only good point is it looks good but you don't when you're pushing back to the car...

Don't know if there is something wrong with the one I bought, but it is really hard to pump and doesn't put out much air. It's got this skinny little handle where you can't get a grip and the slide is sticky.
I got stranded after getting a flat out in the bush because it simply wouldn't pump up the tyre to any significant pressure. I cannot recommend this thing.
I normally don't give negative reviews for products but I am fuming after this thing let me down. Thankfully I wasn't in a really remote area.

I bought this pump because it looked well made and was discounted down to £9 at the time. I wish I hadnt bothered as the design of the pump is bad. The quality of the materials is good, but the pump seized at the first sign of any mud or speck of dirty! I have only used the pump a few times and when it wasn't seized up, it was very hard to get it in the right position on the valve to get air into the tube! I would not recommend anyone buy this pump due to its bad design.

Bought this, as I thought it was a steal, and I've been on a hunt for a micro pump of late to replace a nasty unbranded "hand me down".
For 9 quid its a bargain.
The low/high settings work fine, and with not much effort I got 100 psi out of it, which is sufficient to get you home after a visit from the PF.
I'd recommend it in a heartbeat, before all the stock goes or the price changes back.
Add to that a lifetime guarantee (admittedly stateside) and replaceable parts, 9 quid is nothing.

Had this pump for 18 months- only used it once in that time and I looked after it. Second time I came to use it no joy. Shaft was seized inside pump barrel and would not free so pump was unuseable. Manufacturer not interested as I live outside the US. Won't be buying any more Blackburn products.

I've had two of these, but neither lasted. Durability is lacking for a pump with so much potential.

Lets face it, to get 140-160psi with any hand held pump is always going to be hard work, and who puts that amount in a tyre when they have punctured anyway, it is after all an emergency get you out of trouble item, so no need for gauges, leave them for the track pump!
I was more than surprised at the size of this pump, and had my doubts, but appearances are deceptive. It works, and works very well too! It inserts onto and holds the valve easily where others tend to lift off or, expel air as you are pumping. The stroke of the pump whilst in use is nice and smooth.Yes it may take some time to get your tyre to 140psi etc...(less than 100 will see you home) but it is a small pump and slips in the jersey pocket a treat. If you're in rush to pump your tyre, get a bigger pump! Build quality is excellent and a lifetime guarantee, what more could you want? If you're looking at this then you know you want a micro pump, and this, for the price, cannot be overlooked.
