Rated 5 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by You don't 'need' it until you NEED it I ordered one of these as have had chainring strikes in the past, haven't had the need for it to do it's job so far but confident it will be up to the job if required as very good quality. Also good for getting the bike in and out of the car as will make hitting the rear bumper with the chainrings less likely - not the intended benefit im sure but a good one nontheless! 17 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple Allows me to keep the chain ring exposed whilst protecting it. Keeps the bile looking good. 14 September 2014

Answer:
If you are running a 38t outer ring the 32-38t version should be just enough to cover you, yes. A 36-40t guide would give you that extra bit of cover
