Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by not as well built as it appears the overall design is good, and after much adjusting, the tensioner works well, however, the bearings are loose and the guide wheel has a wobble to it, this hasn't effected the usefulness of the device yet, but for $30 I expect a good bearing. 06 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Chain tensioner for that money is a steal. Great device for a fraction of price expected for such an improvement to your drivetrain. The choice of colours (they even have pink) and the choice of fittings are immense. The only moving part is easy to replace and does not cost much- which is great as it needs replacing on regular basis. The roller bearings are a cheap steel bearings failing on regular basis (approximately every 6 months at most) developing significant drag or play. It is important to cut your chain to the correct length as it removes a fair amount of slack hence it can cause chain suck when accompanied by too short chain. The mounting bolts on ISCG device do rub on your ring bolts unless put in without the washers and your chain sometimes rubs on the mounting plate under force when in the lowest gear- but all in it is a significant improvement. It also is an additional support from below for your bash guard when you strike an obstacle failing to hop it. It can get a bit tricky to set it up at first but as always practice makes perfect. Keep moving the roller up/down couple of millimetres to ensure crisp operation- if it doesn't go up on the roller when changing to granny- the roller is too close to the rings (change the plate angle [to between 8 and 9 o'clock] and/or roller position). Lack of instructions is annoying to some but you can easily find any information online so it is not the end of your world. The mounting bolts come with washers not necessarily needed but unless you try you wouldn't know. If you are running 3 rings- get something else or get rid of big ring and get a bash. If you are running 2 ring set up- you cannot get much better than Stinger. If you are running single- its is somehow helpful. 16 December 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Idea is good - never droppped a chain since, but the roller could be better. This fits easy and works well...for a while. I use it with a 2 x 9 speed. The Roller only has one bearing, the one you can see in the photo (not two like others) and is prone to seizing up after a while. I put the roller on opposite to the picture and it works better, with the bearing facing the plate. At least the bearings are a very common and cheap size and I fitted a good SKF bearing which works well now. I emailed Blackspire in Canada to ask why they don't use 2 bearings, but got no reply. I will keep using it, as it works well to stop chain slap, but will replace the roller with a different one when this one wears out. 22 October 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Can I ask some thing? My frame doesn't have ISCG mount, but can I fit the BB mount? (Sorry for my English i'm Bulgarian 26 May 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ha, Nelson (1 star rating) is an idiot. The older version has been on my bike for just over 2 years now, never dropped a chain. Simple amazing piece of equipment :) I'm just hoping this Gold really does look Gold. 04 February 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Buy one, The guy who gave it a s*** review. Its a chain TENSIONER not a chain guide! You didn't fit it right. This is a super good product. Had it on my Mondraker dune for ages now. Keeps the chain from jumping around. 30 December 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by This is a pc of s***, when the chain fell off, it will stuck between the BB and the pc of s***. The ISCG version with a ISCG adaptor is the only chose because it will be closer to the small chain ring with no chance to fall the chain. 17 February 2011

Answer:
The Stinger chain tensioner can be used with both single and double front chainring set-ups. So this will work perfectly well with your FSA double crankset.

I am running the e-thirteen BB30 bottom bracket which is a two piece screw together bottom bracket with external cups. The crankset is also e-thirteen and is a 30mm spindle.

Will this chain tensioner fit behind that size bottom bracket?

Answer:
This chain tensioner is not compatible with the BB30 bottom bracket.

As there is no BB30 bottom bracket mounted chain devices available for this system; a seatube or chainstay mounted device would be the best option.
