Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous its a chainring
This is the inner ring. It has 22 teeth and is much much smaller than the outer one, which has 44 teeth. It is also smaller than the middle ring which has 32 teeth, but it isnt as much smaller than it is of the outer ring, which as i said, has 44 teeth.
So if you're looking for an inner ring with 22 teeth which is much much smaller than the outer ring with its 44 teeth, but not as much smaller than the middle one (which is a little bit more smaller than the outer one than the inner is as compared to the middle one, with its 32 teeth)
then this is a good one to get as it has just the right asmount of teeth!
Its also the only one on this website that fits an m960 crank thus rendering this review pointless.
I hope this has been helpful?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Very Satisfactory Alternative to Genuine Shimano Part
Chain suck problems put me in the market for an inner chainring. Bought this and the genuine Shimano XTR item at the same time to compare both.
My original set-up is 22-32-44, but I purchased a 24T inner (delivers ~9% longer gearing). The manufacturers convention is that a 24T inner be matched with a 34T middle so there was a question over shifting performance.
I verified using a micrometer that dimensionally both items are exactly the same (tooth thickness, ring thickness, offset, tooth height). Tooth profile is different however. Neither ring has any shifting gates. Shimano original part 31g, Blackspite 35g.
Over a 1.5 hour ride had absolutely no shifting issues what so ever. No delay in the chain moving up or down. Made a point of trying a few clumsy up and down shifts under power and the Blackspire chainring is as smooth as the original Shimano article. A completely invisible part. Can't comment yet on durability.

Bought this ring and the other two to replace my
