The Swallow Classic reproduces the timeless design of the daddy of all modern racing saddles, first in production in 1937. Featuring the original chromium plated steel metalwork. The tensioning plate on the underside still bears the original patenting information retaining the word DEPOSÉ, as the patent for this model was first registered in Paris. Back then many of Brooks saddles in fact were exported to the continent for the use of racers in the tours.

My Brooks Swallow saddle was nicked from my bike (with the seat post) outside the Royal Albert Hall at the 2012 Proms. Ironically I was quite grateful as have reverted to my old cheap Selle Italia saddle which is more comfy and better looking. Brooks look the part - but trust me - they are not comfy, useless in the wet. Not worth the money or the agro!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I've owned this saddle now for almost a year and it’s the most comfortable saddle I have ever owned. I'm not just saying that 'cos it cost £130 either. Sure it started as the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever owned with the saddle being very hard. However my 'seat bones' have now made there mark and it fits me like a glove. The saddle is also very cool in summer and warm in winter and looks great on my 2010 Specialized Sector Elite.

Like many people I was in two minds as to whether I should buy a leather saddle having heard numerous horror stories. I must admit my heart did sink a bit when I opened the box and it was hard as nails. However, having now used it I can gladly say its the most comfortable saddle I've ever owned with no discomfort of any kind. Don't be put off by the stories. If you want one buy one I doubt you'll regret it.
