Swift is one of the first "modern" gent's racing Brooks saddles. It was traditionally available only with titanium rails, but since 2008 it has also been manufactured with a chrome plated steel metalwork. Both versions feature skived sides and hand hammered copper rivets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous

Lovely classic looking good quality saddle. Read loads of really positive views so thought I'd get one for my Croix de Fer (the origonal saddle was not good... for me). The Swift saddle is not light, so not for the weight obsessed. I've done around 400 mile on mine so far and it's still not particularly comfortable yet but it's getting better. I've had 7 saddles on 3 different bikes over the last 4 years and at the moment and I would rate this middling as far as comfort goes (so far); it was particularly hard for the first 100 mile and placed a lot of pressure on my soft underparts. As I mentioned earlier it is getting better though... hoping it will eventually be as good as others have found it. It does look classy! At the moment it would get 3 stars at best if I were rating it on comfort alone... but gets an extra one for quality and look.

Bought one of these for my Croix de Fer after reading many positive reviews. With discounts/ promotions e.t.c. got one for a lot less than the £99 list price (£65). This is still quite expensive but it's a great looking quality piece of kit. It's no lightweight, adding about half a pound over my original saddle but neither is the bike it's on (The original saddle wasn't comfortable for me). I've had 7 saddles over the last 4 years (searching for the holy grail of seats)... I would love to say this is the best saddle ever but for the first 100 mile the Brooks Swift was the most uncomfortable saddle I'd used. It was hard and puts a lot of pressure on your soft underparts! After another 400 mile it's getting better but still not the best, maybe 3rd-4th out of the saddles I've used. (Charge Spoon is top so far for distance riding). One big 'however' though... this saddle is getting better, whilst the others stay the same. I'm hoping it will reach number one as I reach the 1st 1000 miles this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Perfect - Delivered with a free Brooks cover
This swift wbrow saddle is magnificent, I have not used it yet but as a customer ased in France, I am very satisfied by Chainreactioncycles.com:
- the price is much more interesting than here in Paris (€92 all included, with a free spanner);
- the free international delivery was quite fast (4 working days);
- I also bought the Brooks proofide jar 40mg for €9.56 (arguably expensive but I applied it already on the internal side of the saddle and a bit on the external side and it looks very very good);
- I received with the above a useful free present - this is the good surprise - a BROOKS SADDLE COVER (value €5.97...).
Voila, je suis tres content :)
Hope this helps...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Fantastic!
I have recently bought one of these for my fixie; having owned a Team pro and currently using a B17 Special on my hybrid I suppose I can say that the team Pro is by far the firmer saddle and does take some breaking in. The B17 was very comfortable out of the box, I can wear jeans no problem. The Swift marginally more supple than the others but once again was comfortable straight from the box. I only rode 30ish miles before I could notice where my sit bones were. No lightweight but I would much rather be comfortable. Built quality is second to none!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Great... if you win the first 200 mile battle
Initial thoughts: looks great, shiny leather, lovely beaten rivets, oozes quality.
Initial ride: rock hard, like riding a wooden saddle, chamfered edge - though a real example of hand-made craftsmanship - did snag my shorts (easily fixed with careful and minimal/light sanding of the offending edge). I liked the shiny/slippery feel of the saddle - meant I could shift positions easily.
After 2 weeks (200 miles) of commuting, my pelvic bones have won the battle and imprinted themselves in the saddle. So, it now does fit me like a glove and it feeling marginally softer each week now. Proofiding no doubt helps the process (just do underside, not top). Approaching my first 1k on the Swift now and am very happy with it.
Oh, it is heavy compared to a modern svelte racing saddle, but my 1970's 531 single-speed commuter isn't exactly light and cranking out 20 miles per day of a heavy weight makes my weekend lightweight pleasure-rides even more joy. Maybe next Xmas I'll treat myself to the Ti model.
Yes, would recommend, would buy another (though hope/think this'll last me a good few years to come).
