Castelli Sanremo 2 Thermosuit

The Sanremo Thermosuit is the ultimate in cold weather cycling attire. Only the highest quality garments are awarded Rosso Corsa status and this is one of them. The one-piece suit consists of a Sorpasso lower section and a Gabba long sleeve upper, for what is the last word in winter protection.

The Sanremo's Sorpasso bottom half features Thermoflex Core Due fabric. This fleecy fabric is extremely soft to the touch and traps a layer of warm air next to your skin. With a tighter knit than standard Thermoflex, cold air is kept out. Should you begin to overheat, a push-pull moisture management system will keep you dry.

To ensure complete comfort on long rides, the Sanremo features Castelli's Progetto X2 Air seatpad. The Progetto X2 is produced using 3 layers, each of which has a very specific purpose. To provide comfort where it's needed most, there is perforated viscous padding at any high pressure areas. Multi-density foam is used to provide variable thickness - padding where it's needed and less where it isn't, to maximise your freedom of movement on and off the bike. Finally, a four way stretch, antibacterial layer allows air to flow into the surface fabric to aid evaporation. Castelli calls this "the most comfortable seat pad on the planet" and we don't disagree!

The bottom half features an ankle zip, which allows a snug, yet comfortable fit. This snug fit keeps cold air out and allows the hollow-core fibres to trap warm air next to your skin. When getting those extra training miles in means venturing out in the dark, reflective tabs will help keep you safe by making you more visible to other road users

The Sanremo's top half uses the same technology as the iconic Gabba long sleeved jersey. Windstopper X-Lite fabric provides exceptional protection from the wind and is splash resistant. Three rear pockets provide you with plenty of storage for everything you will need for long winter rides.

The construction of the Sanremo is such that it looks like a top and tights. The jersey and tights are joined together, preventing wind from entering and creating a garment that is supremely comfortable, breathable and more light weight. The one piece construction also makes the Sanremo perfect for cyclocross racing.

Suitable for winter training or racing, the Sanremo 2 Thermosuit is a revolutionary garment which epitomises Castelli's dedication to quality and innovation.

With roots dating back to 1876, Castelli has been at the forefront of fabric technology for almost 40 years. Alfredo Binda, Gino Bartali, Fausto Coppi, Jacques Anquetil and Louison Bobet were but a few of the legendary athletes clothed by Castelli. More recently, Bernard Hinault wore the first windproof jersey when he won Fleche Wallone. Castelli made that too!
