Rated 5 out of 5 by RobertRJ Lightweight, powerful, good battery life
I cycle to and from work 5 days a week. Have used this light all last winter, and so far this winter. This is my 2nd Cateye EL-135. It has excellent battery life, and bright light. It can be detached very easily - which is why I'm on my second. The first one was stolen! I don't normally remove it, as other reviews have said the detachable bracket is a weak point.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Rosdon Good light but bad fiixing
Great light but I've had two now and both times after about a year the plastic stud which holds the light onto the fixing band has sheared making it useless.

Good design, nice and neat, easy to use and surprisingly powerful. Definitely great value for money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Good little light
Owned this for 2-3 years now and think its one of the better back up/commuter lights.
Easy to fit, long battery life, good amount of light, used it more than once to get back from an off road ride when my main lamp has run flat. However its only really suitable for road, fire road, non techinical tracks that you know well.
Light bleed from the top of the unit can be distracting if used in flashing mode especially if riding in unlit areas, in lit areas or used in steady state mode its fine.
Dirt and water eventually gets into the case (clean & dry gets it working again) & into the fixing band thread, a good clean before removing makes sure the thumb nut will turn OK.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous Good light but fixing breaks within a couple of years
I've had two of these lights, and I like them as they have a good light spread, batteries last for ages and projects some light to the side so that cars at junctions are more likely to spot you. However the plastic attachment for fixing and removing it from the bike (which I do twice daily as I commute with it) on both of mine broke within a couple of years. Despite the fact the rest of the light is fine, once this connector breaks, the light jumps off the bike whenever I go over a bump, so I've had to replace it each time. Not all Cateye lights use this fixture, but the 130 and 135 series all seem to.
