Chain Reaction Cycles Pro Bike Bag

The Chain Reaction Cycles Pro Bike Bag has been custom designed in house to offer you the best value bike transport bag possible with features that are better than even the market leading equivalent. Whether travelling via car, plane or train the CRC Pro bike bag will make travelling with a bike as quick and easy as it can be. Our versatile design will accommodate any bike you can think of within minutes with minimal tools required. Only the wheels, pedals and handlebars need to be removed before you are safe to transport your bike.

The key to our design lies with the Crush Protection Inserts and the Shock Block Securing System which combine to create an adaptable duo which is easy to use and protects your bike from unwanted knocks and shocks.

Crush Protection Inserts – The bike is connected to the Shock Block Securing System via any two of the Crush Protection Inserts which once fitted in place of your hubs will prevent your frame and forks from being crushed together during transport. The Crush Protection Inserts are constructed from solid alloy for durability and a total of eight different Crush Protection Inserts are included to ensure that all bicycles are compatible with our design:

Front Hub Inserts:

  • QR
  • 15mm Bolt Through
  • 20mm Bolt Through

Rear Hub Inserts:

  • 130mm QR
  • 135mm QR
  • 12x125mm Bolt Through
  • 12x142mm Bolt Through
  • 12x150mm Bolt Through

When not in use these can be easily stored in a secure pocket inside the bag or left at home to keep weight to a minimum.

Shock Block Securing System – Our versatile system protects and secures your bike inside the bag via three separate blocks which are located as follows:

  • Under the fork – Protects the controls on the bottom of your forks and offers a secure location to fix the front Crush Protection Insert.
  • Under the bottom bracket - Prevents your chainrings from striking the bottom of the bag during a large impact.
  • Under the rear axle – Protects the controls on the bottom of your forks and offers a secure location to fix the rear Crush Protection Insert.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cheap and good! Bought this at the beginning of september to take my mountain bike with me on a semester abroad. Very nice Quality, a lot of spacers for front and rear axles for various kinds of setups as well as storage options for those. Tires fit in well as well as the rest of the bike. Simply great work by CRC. Thumbs up! 22 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by light and strong used this bag for a trip to france this year . borrowed a hard case last year but decided to buy a bag this year to keep the weight down . well thought out bag with various spacers to use with your own QR skewers , you don't even need to take rear mech off as the rear of bike sits up nice and high on foam pad .bottom bracket also sits on a foam pad which needed some hollowing out to accept the battery pack for di2 .seat post needs to be dropped . loads of room left for helmet, shoes and all the clothes you would need for a week away .wheels pack away nicely either side of bike .bag wheels seem pretty robust and wide enough to pull along nicely without falling over ! weighed in at 22kg fully loaded ,well below easyjet 32kg allowance . 14 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pro race travel bag I have the first bag and now the upgrade. This is money well spent. Has not let me down 17 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good, but not perfect Firstly this is a very well thought out product and has been designed by cyclists and users rather than some product designer. It will swallow your bike and all kit with ease, I have an XL 650b bike and it took this, helmets, pads and spares for a weeks trip to the Alps. Downsides - some of the straps and buckles have already broken, which is a bit annoying. My bag also has a lean to it which I am hoping is just from being folded in a box for transit. it does mean that the bike can be hard to pull. If it continues then I will return as a mate who also bought one has no issues. In summary, buy this bag, it's one of the best and cheapest soft bags around, it's well designed and user friendly. 30 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value for money! Why buy evoc? I just took delivery of this bag today and am really impressed with it! With it been significantly cheaper then the similar evoc I expected it to feel cheap. It is far from this, I am traveling to the alps with friends this year and will take great pleasure in winding up my friends who have bought the evoc and paid much much more than this bag. Great product 30 May 2014

Answer:
Yes, this bag will accept large (even X-Large) MTB and Road frames. It will take most 29er bikes as well, although you may need to deflate the tyres in order to fit the wheels into the bag.

Answer:
The Pro Bike Bag has been designed with air travel in mind; strapping and padding is secure enough that your bike should arrive without any damage, but to give yourself the best possible chance of protection from various baggage handlers, it's always worth putting some extra padding in there with the bike (many riders will use their various cycling clothes as additional padding).

Answer:
Yes it did, very well in fact.
The thing is if you stuff the bag with other things you are taking along like riding gear or clothing it is very well preserved, even better than with the bag alone.

Answer:
It will depend on the profile of the specific tires you have fitted, but anything up to a 29 x 2.3" will be fine in most cases.

Answer:
It will depend on the profile of the tire in question, but anything up to a 29x 2.3" is ok in most cases. Personally, I always partially/ fully deflate the tires before travel anyway (it helps give them a little extra padding within the bag), and pack any spare space with soft items (towels, jerseys etc)to maximize the protection level.

The dimensions of this bag are L - 1400mm, W - 280mm, H - 790mm so with you bike packed down you should be able to determine if the fit is accurate; however there should be no issues fitting this bike.
