Answer:
Unfortunately this would not be possible as the Bolt Circle Diameters are different between 'Compact' and 'Double' crankset gear ratios.

The chainrings cannot physically fit to the crankset.

Answer:
Shimano does not produce stars at 110mm (for a compact) more than 50T, but you can find and use other manufacturers. For example BBB or FSA. but pay attention to BCD = 110mm

Answer:
The bolt circle (BCD) refers to the distance between the bolt holes on the chainring. This is important as chainrings and cranks can have different bolt spacings.

The way to identify your current crank/chainring BCD is to get a ruler and measure the center to center of two adjacent bolt holes.

45.3mm measured will equal a 64mm BCD the most common for 22t size.

Answer:
In a four hole system such as SRAM the BCD (bolt circle diameter) is simply the distance between the hole centres of two opposite holes and is best measured from the outer edge of one hole to the inner edge of the opposite hole.

Five hole systems such as Shimano are more complicated.

1. Measure the distance between adjacent holes. Call this distance C.

2. Then the BCD is given by: BCD = C/sin(180/N) where N is the number of holes.

Answer:
As long as the BCD and hole count on the chainring matches that on your crank spider, you should be ok to use different brands with different cranks. Some cranks have specific BCD/ Spider alignment; if you drop us an email with details of your crank (model, year etc) we will be able to have a closer look for you. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/...
