Hello,
The current chain on my city bike is worn out and since I have to buy a replacement for the rear gear shifter, I cannot see among all the offered chains which is most suitable? I use the bike for normal back and forth biking to get to work in the city.
Regards
Anders

Answer:
You may have difficulty when attempting to ride in the large chainring and the largest sprocket. Although this is not advised even with the correct length chain due to lateral chain distortion causing premature chain wear, in your case you could also damage the rear derailleur tension spring.
Unless your current chain is too long, it is not advised to fit a shorter chain.

Answer:
There should be enough links for your application. Most BMX bikes have about 15 links left over, so allowing for the extra few teeth (28x11 as opposed to 25x9 on a BMX), plus the extra length of your chainstays due to using a bigger wheel you should be safe with one chain.

Good choice of chain by the way.

Yes, the 3/32" version is fine to use on larger 24" and 26" frames with a single speed setup. 28/11t should be fine.

Answer:
Any of the chains below will get your bike back up and running again.

If your cassette is also quite worn then it is always advised to replace the cassette at the same time as the chain.

Answer:
Like most chains, CN-7801 is symmetrical - the links are shaped the same on both sides. 7900 is asymmetrical, shaped differently on each side to optimise front & rear shifting smoothness (allegedly). Fitting a 7900 chain backwards will affect shifting more than using a different chain, such as 7801, in a 7900 system.
