Chris King Bottom Bracket - Road

We've been making our own sealed bearings here at King for over 32 years and never has there been a component that benefited more from their strength and durability than the bottom bracket. Yes, the Chris King bottom bracket is here and ready to take on the most challenging conditions your cycling adventures can deliver.

The Chris King bottom bracket is specifically designed for Shimano-compatible external type crank/bottom bracket systems and delivers every benefit you've come to expect from King and in the wide array of colours only King can do.

An available grease injection tool allows the bearings to be purged of existing grease and debris and new grease run through. What better way to maximize the life of your bearings than to do routine maintenance? Especially when it's this easy.

Racers take note! With the Chris King bottom bracket and injection tool, you can train day-to-day with a durable high-viscosity grease and race with a light, fast-rolling low-viscosity grease or oil. Imagine your current Friday night leg-shaving ritual finishing with a few minutes in the garage to get your bike as smooth as you are.

Chris King offer the bottom bracket cups in combination with a plastic center sleeve and three anodized 2.5mm chainline spacers for 24mm crank axle systems such as Shimano Hollowtech II. Only 108 grams.

Also available is the SRAM-compatible 24mm stepped axle configuration. The stepped axle Chris King bottom bracket makes use of a fit kit to match the crank axle to our standard cups and bearings but without use of chainline spacers. 125 grams.

Features:

  • Please Note: This is the 24mm Stepped Axle system.
  • Chris King recommends using a compatible socket driver and torque wrench for proper installation.
  • 68/73mm shell

Rated 5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by You pay for what you get - quality I had never used a Chris King BB before, although I had seen and heard nothing but good things about them, I guess it was the price that always made me wonder 'is it really worth it' The answer is yes, it really is. After ploughing through a couple of standard shimano BB's I thought I would take the jump and I can't complain - its as smooth as a greased nipple. Looks pretty too (if your order a fancy colour) All in all, very happy so far. 02 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by ottimo Ottima scorrevolezza, grande vantaggio della manutenzione manuale, nel mio telaio in titanio ha irrobustito il movimento centrale, ottimo accoppiamento con pedivelle ultrega.LO consiglio vivamente. 22 August 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by another CK masterpiece All bottom brackets should be built like this. Installed the Mango colour in my Orbea (with Euskatel Euskadi team colours). Used a Truvativ GXP BB tool to instal, no problems. If anyone tells you that you can't feel the difference with smoothness of bearing in a bottom bracket, they haven't tried a Chris King (I had Dura-Ace before). Longevity and maintenance - wise, I can't vouch, only got a couple of hundred km's on so far, but I've got a road and an mtb CK headset that are both over 10years old, I've never touched, other than the instal. 16 May 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by The last bottom bracket you will buy Having waited for many, many years for Chris King to come out with a bottom bracket the wait is finally over and I was NOT disappointed! Typical Chris King build quality that will probally outlast your frame! I fitted the gold anodised 68mm version to my Ku and it runs soooo smooth! Superb choice of colours and if you just want a bottom bracket that works then buy this one. Just remember that it's best to use the Chris King BB fitting tool though. 15 January 2009

Answer:
No, the Chris King Bottom Brackets will only be compatible with the Shimano Hollowtech or SRAM GXP style of spindles, not the Campagnolo Ultra Torque as this is Campag Specific.
