Chris King NoThreadset - Sotte Voce

Chris King Precision Components was one of the first bicycle component manufacturers to offer a threadless headset. The modular design of the headset Chris developed in 1976 served as a platform for him to transform the concept of threadless into one of the most iconic pieces in the cycling universe. The Chris King NoThreadSet™ is simple yet without limitation. It is equally appropriate on road or mountain bikes. It has been ridden to mountain bike world titles in both endurance and gravity disciplines and has crossed the finish line under yellow at the Tour de France.

The NoThreadSet™ features aluminium cups, bearing cap, and stemcap built around our renowned stainless steel sealed bearings. Each NoThreadSet™ includes a stainless steel baseplate and our custom starnut with bolt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best headset bar none I have had my Chris King headset for over 15 years!!!! Buy it. Install it. Never worry about it. It will outlast your bike! Mine has been on 4 different bikes! It will probably outlast me! 15 May 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best out there No questions asked best headset out there. 12 September 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nobody does it better I have the more ostentatious original (in black) with and I've had it 4+ years now its been transplanted from an Orange MsIsle to my Cotic Soul and still going strong its been stripped and cleaned a few times, but it really doesn't matter how much mud you put it through it remains smooth and solid. You just can't beat CK for their quality nobody makes a better headset full stop. 30 June 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best headset that money can buy, sexy, strong, light weight, perfect!! First I put it on my Kona Kula Deluxe, now is in my Santa Cruz Superlight and I´ve never been a problem. 08 April 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's the old King I'm giving a mixed review. I've got a King on a roadbike and it'll last eternally there I'm sure, so 5 stars for that. However I'm not too happy I put one on my trail/am bike because I love rock gardens. The o-ring cap doesn't hold in this use which is not surprising, but come on, 6 months and the King starts dying, any headset can do the same and many do better without battering the steer tube of your fork. I'll go for some dh-rated stuff the next time. 28 January 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works a treat - if you have a really nice bike fit one now!! I built up a Cove Handjob frame a few years ago, and fitted a WTB Greaseguard headset. Replaced it after 6 months. Fitted a WTB cartridge bearing headset. Replaced the bearings after 6 months. Got fed up with replacing the bearings, so when it came to a fork upgrade I fitted a CK headset. Despite frequent abuse in the mud of northern england & wales it still works. OK, some people comment that it is too "bling", but for a bike in the UK true fit & forget components are what everyone should be looking to fit. I said it at the top, if you have a nice bike then this headset should be the one you fit, forget new headsets every year & risking damage to your head tube. Fit the CK. 20 December 2009

Answer:
No; the Mega AM frame runs a 44mm semi-integrated headtube so this 34mm headset will not be suitable. The CK Inset 1 headset below would be ok..
