Answer:
Chris King brackets use their own steel ball bearings (designed in house, so slightly smaller than regular balls; this allows them to fit more into the same space, giving a smoother feel).

Compatible with new XTR M9000 series?

I have a Niner Jet 9 RDO frame which requires a PF30 BB and a 73mm sizing- the perfect fit. However, I'm really keen on using the new XTR M9000 group but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. If not, what other XC groupsets are compatible with this BB?

Answer:
Shimano still use their 24mm axle standard, so to fit a Shimano crank you will need to adapt the PF30 shell back to BSA (adaptor linked below) which you can then fit the Hollowtech II bracket to as normal (or fit a direct adaptor bracket, such as the Raceface also linked below)

Alternatively, any BB30 (30mm axle) crank will be suitable if used with a direct bracket such as the Chris King Press Fit 30 below.
