Impressive performance improvement over the stock pads of the Tektro R312 brake set. Don't change the brakes, upgrade the pads!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DevotioN

If you're a heavy braker like me, they will wear out quickly. When new they did slow down reasonably well, but quickly wore out. Probably done around 300 miles and need a new set already. I had shimano blocks that came with the bike (sora) before these and they lasted 6 years with similar braking responce.

Well, they cost a fiver so straight away they're are not going to be the best out there....
In dry conditions they're just the ticket, and they don't wear too quickly either! I've done a good 400 miles on one set and still no signs of needing replacing.
BUT - in the wet they really are useless. I've got a fairly standard setup, nowt expensive, but the stopping distance in the wet must be 3 or 4 times that of dry conditions. I'm not risking that and will be switching to Swissstop Green's for the winter.

These pads a really twitchy. If like me you like to lock your wheels up, these most certainly, will do the job.
Having started on Tek's and then Ultegra, I have to say, I can't fault the pads on anything.
Might wear out quickly, but only time will tell!
