Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent brakes for a great price Anyone who gives these brakes a bad review isn't being rational. These brakes are $34 for a front and rear set with rotors ... dirt cheap. They are easy to setup and provide more than enough performance for the price. I have them mounted on my SS CX Commuter bike. They work just great. Tons of stopping power for the road and just enough for when I go off road on hard pack flats. If you are buying these for your trail bike get something better, but if you have a sensible application these things are just right. They are not perfect. These things are real heavy and have a bulky ugly appearance. My ride is white so the bulky ugliness is mitigated by the fact that the brakes blend in. If you bike isn't white they may stick out in a bad way. 10 April 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good price. Awesome work. 180mm for front - not for extreme. 13 May 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COSTS! I bought 1pc of these to replace my faulted rear Hayes 9 on my commuting bike 'cause I did not want to spend money on it. What a mistake! From the beginning the braking power was barely noticable despite huge effort at the lever. ( I have use Shimano&Tektro mechanical before so I know how mechanical disc should perform.) After the braking action there is consistent problem that the brake lever would't returnn the last 5-10mm in to its original position. It does but after a while. I have changed the cable 3 times in last 6 months I owe the brake but with no positive result. The recent cable is top qualit- low friction one that cost more than the caliper did. The problem seems to be caused by unsufficient strenght of the spring in the caliper. The major problem with the product is somewhere else: the adjustable cylinder on the inner side of the wheel - opposite to the "push" cylinder - DOES NOT STAY IN THE DESIRED POSITION - as result after each few miles ride it will screw itself out of the caliper in to a greater distance from the disc causing the braking power become non- existent and it require re-adjustment (every 5-7miles or after each short ride) to keep at least some braking performance. Another superb design feature of the product is the way the end of the cable is fixed at the caliper arm - if it get loose you need an allien key + spanner to tight it up - very clever solution. Also - the magnet that holds the pads in their place has (once) atracted a piece of metal debris from the road and that piece got stuck in the caliper completely blocking its movement - braking power - but this can be just a bad luck. Neverthless, overally I can say this is the WORST BIKING PRODUCT I HAVE EVER BUY IN THE LAST 25 YEARS. IT IS NOT ONLY BAD PRODUCT BUT IT IS ALSO VERY DANGEROUS - IN MOST SITUATION YOU WILL BE BETTER WITH NO BRAKES AT ALL THEN USE CMD-8 - AT LEAST YOU WILL KNOW YOU HAVE NO BRAKES!!! 14 February 2013

Can you link me the compatible brake pads?

I cannot find brake pads for the CMD-8 on your homepage. They seem to be very similar to the CMD-6 models but I cannot find any compatibility chart.

Answer:
We do not have the CMD-8 pads available at this time.

However the Clarks Part number is VX849C; which should help you source the correct part.

Answer:
Yes; these calipers are Post Mount, as are the mounts on the Recon fork so they should mate together without any problems.
