Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's a chain. It works on my 9 speed set up. Lets not get carried away, it's a chain, it works. I used it to replace a slightly worn but tatty shimano chain (less than .5 worn) and it performed faultlessly, held lube and a smooth action over a three day very wet/muddy/gritty riding trip. 21 February 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by 19 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly Recommended I use this chain on both my commuter and mountain bike and cannot fault its shifting or longevity. Over two years service from both chains and they still look as good as new as the day I bought them on eBay. I have paid three times as much for KMC SL chains which are only 18g lighter by my scales, and don't shift as smoothly on my XT drive-train. Buy one. 21 May 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by not good Broke two of these in 18 months after cleaning them every ride ! 18 March 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by I put the chain on the bike a month ago, and the change does not work as well as before. The cassette is a Shimano Hypeglide and has 2000 km `s. In my opinion the chain is rather wide for this type of cassette. 25 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ace This is a great chain for the money, had it on for over a year, shifts really well, it's lasting really well, still looks great with a wash and isn't heavy. 05 August 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by clarks 9 speed review i bought this chain from ebay and its weight for a tenner is unreal at 260 grm ,its the same weight as the 50/60 quid versions with a diferent name at a two tenths the price ,not bad at all and this is actually a ybn chain aswell 18 March 2012

Answer:
Yes it does work with Shimano XT, 116 links should be enough for the mega.
It comes with a quick release link in the pack, you will need a chain splitter if you need less then the supplied length (to remove the excess links)

Answer:
No, there would be no major compatibility issues with the 'Clarks Self Lubricating 9 Speed Chain' on the 'SRAM PG970 9 Speed Cassette'.
