Continental Mountain King II Tyre - UST

Mountain King II – the new regent!

Now firmly into the second period of its reign, the Mountain King II strengthens its rule over the all-round trail bike market. Superb braking traction and optimum cornering are guaranteed in all types of conditions. The tread lug arrangement was developed in collaboration with professional mountain bikers, resulting in an exceptionally light yet positively tough trail tyre.
Trail riders, Cross Country racers, Alpine tourists and Marathon riders – this is a serious intermediate tyre option.

This Tubless version will work with both UST and Rigida/Nagesti rims and wheels.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by great tyre this tyre is awesome, easy to set up tubeless, with conti revo sealant on a Mavic Deemax. Use mainly for trail center reds and occasional dabble on DH tracks, feels great knowing there is no tube to get pinch flats on, running lower pressures with no worries! just slightly expensive. 16 March 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by got these a couple months ago and have been very impresset. Intilly used them in the winter on sloppy rooty trails, and overal found them very capable.Once it started to dry up i really ws blown away by the grip. Roots, rocks, sketchy loose corners. the tires hooked up incredbly well. Volume and size are also perfect tecknical trails. And they roll quite well given their grip.Overall all for 20 dollar tires these are awesome. 17 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rear tyre for XC I do loads of trails (Afan, Whites, Brechfa) and also cross country over Brecon Beacons etc. Added to that I often use the bike commuting a short distance to work on tarmac and cycle paths (thorns etc). I use the 2.2 Mountain King on the back coupled with a Rubber Queen on the front. The Mountain king is a thin tyre for its size (2.2 looks thinner than other 2.2's) . The grip is great for most conditions, obviously it won't grip on a wet smooth tree root - but what will? I bought mine in April 2012 and it's now Feb 2013 and I have covered over 700 miles on it with a mixture of terrain and the tyre is still good for another 300 miles I reckon. The only downside is that my tyre always seems to go flat over a couple of days of no use (UST Tubeless). I have used Stans on it and it still seems to go down. (The Rubber Queen does not go down at all). In conclusion, a great tyre, grippy and free rolling. I guess the best recommendation is that when this one wears out - I'm buying another one! 02 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant tyre I have been running Mountain King II 2.2 wire tyres on front and rear for a year now, and found them to be entirely reliable. I decided to go down the tubeless route and purchased these thinking they would be practically the same. Although the tread pattern is the same, the tyre is far more substantial making it far more robust. Something that puzzles me is the rubber also seems to have that much more grip, proven over a slippery rocky section the wire tyres spun out on every time. These handled it beautifully. First fitting onto ZTR Crest rims took some doing, but once they had stretched they went on easy enough by hand with soapy water. At the same pressure as wire tyres, they give a far more rigid ride but also absorb more. Whereas the wire tyre is softer but bounces over. A great addition to my ride. I'm very pleased. 03 December 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ripping tire Awesome tire for grip but unfortunately wears quite quickly...even faster if you ride a lot of rock, mountain scree - couple of knobs came off within two weeks. Nuff said. 04 October 2012
