Continental Mountain King II Tyre

Mountain King II – the new regent! Now firmly into the second period of its reign, the Mountain King II strengthens its rule over the all-round trail bike market. Superb braking traction and optimum cornering are guaranteed in all types of conditions. The tread lug arrangement was developed in collaboration with professional mountain bikers, resulting in an exceptionally light yet positively tough trail tyre.

Trail riders, Cross Country racers, Alpine tourists and Marathon riders – this is a serious intermediate tyre option.

“If ever there was a Swiss Army knife of tyres, this has to be it.” – DIRT100 Magazine – 2012

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 56 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Лёгкие.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good tire Overall good grip, might lack a bit when running on wet rocks. Fairly cheap and light weight. I bought the 2.4 version which with a correct tire pressure gives a smooth ride over roots and bumps. Haven't had any issues with puncturing yet as some seem to have problem with on here. For the price I can only recommend it. 18 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great stuff I bought these for all round trail abuse and XC riding - I doubt I will be dissappointed. A nice light tyre with all the knobs in the right places. Pretty sticky too and a folding bead to boot which makes it easier if you have to replace a tube. Great boots for the price. 18 March 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by easily damaged This tyre seems quite narrow for its size. I mounted this in front and was hoping for something with plenty of grip and sturdiness giving the confidence to blast down the trail, but all I got was a wobbly and weak tyre that twisted and warped. I moved to the rear and hoped to take advantage of its low rolling resistance (which is good), but ripped the sidewalls in just two rides instead. Not recommended for anyone going down the hill (unless the trail is covered in smooth tarmac) 27 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by good price, good grip Veri good grip on gravel and hard terrain and goes well on mud too and suprised me on snow too.not so good on wet ice,but its not a ice tire:) Super tire on that price!!! 21 February 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Pinch Puncture King Have the 2.4 on the rear, running 35psi+ and I have never had so many punctures in my life. Generally all snakebites. The sidewalls are thinner than a durex. On the plus side I found they grip pretty well in all conditions, other than when it gets really muddy, but generally they don't stay inflated long enough to have to worry about grip. 19 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great tyre with annoyingly weak side walls An amazing tyre that delivers astonishing amount of grip and is at all times predictable and easy to control when sliding- but it loses a bit of that amazingness when on wet and rocky slates so beware. Continental's measuring system is yet to be fully understood but the tyres they make are always wider than the same widths from their competitors. It does a better job at the rear in my personal opinion but it does deliver results in the front too. The widely spread knobs are shredding mud well and side big knobs are gripping loose, dry stuff like not many others. Typical side wall problems make it extremely vulnerable to on trail damages which (as in my case) can ruin many great outdoor adventures. To be precise I went through 4 brand new at rear within 3 months- all failing at exactly the same way- the threaded side wall sections around the bead fail- the thread brakes making the tyre acting like your wheel is buckled- eventually it fails entirely by exposing the inner tube that simply pops. Apart from that (as the tyre gets replaced under warranty every time) it is an astonishing tyre that has been used by me for at least 5 years now. I tried others but eventually I always find myself shredding it again shortly after. It wears quick initially but then it lasts for about 6 months while rolling 500 miles per month. And even if it goes wrong it is cheap to replace thus you can have a brand new tyre twice a year... 18 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ottima gomma Copertone di lunga durate e alte prestazioni anche su rocce e fango. Ovviamente poco scorrevole su asfalto. La versione wire è un pò pesante 06 February 2014

Answer:
As this is the starter tyre in the range this does not have the Black chilli compound. You would have to go for the likes of the Continental Mountain King II MTB Tyre - RaceSport for Black chilli.

Answer:
No the Black Chilli's are the EXO's and I believe they are around £50-60 per tyre. They usually have square bright panels on the tube wall indicating all the special compounds/technologies.

Answer:

Answer:
Questo non è un copertone tubeless. I copertoni tubeless sono contraddistinti dalla scritta LUST o UST. Quelli che non hanno tale scritta non sono tubeless.
