Super fast city slicker....now available in reflective sidewall & 20" options. The Sport Contact has a rolling resistance comparable to some of our road bike tyres, it's THAT fast! Those in a hurry will benefit from the new features which make the tyre more resistant to punctures than the old Avenue. Check out our tyre application chart for more help in choosing your ideal city/touring tyres. Other tyres in the new Contact range include City Contact for those commuters requiring a wider, slightly more comfortable tyre, Travel Contact which is intended for world touring and so can handle rougher terrain, and the Contact which is our new tyre for touring enthusiast such as CTC and Audax cyclists. All the contact tyres are built with a hybrid aramid/polyamide belt under the tread where the lightweight & flexible polyamide is used as the main material to keep rolling resistance low, and filaments of aramid (kevlar) are spread over this belt to give a strong yet lightweight puncture protection system. The compound we have used for the Sport Contact uses a mix of carbon and silica as the main agents. Carbon aids tread life whilst the silica boosts grip levels. The tread uses a high concentration of natural rubber, giving superior wet grip to synthetic compounds. Includes moderate grooves in the tread to guide water away from the contact area for your safety on wet roads.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous I've had these on my bike for the last year and done around 3500 miles on them.
Generally they've been o.k. Puncture resistance seems to be good, the front one is still going strong although starting to show signs of the rubber breaking down on the sides.
However, I'm about to replace the rear tyre a second time after both of them suffered from severe side wall degradation to the point of making the rear of the bike unstable.
I think I'll be looking for something with a stronger construction to replace it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous I fitted a pair of the 32C to my hybrid about a year and 2000 miles ago and they immediately knocked 5 minutes off my commute. The commute covers mostly cycle paths and some road and I wouldn't want to go any smaller for the rougher surface.
They can be quite slippery in the wet if you go over potholes or any mud, or even the 'bobbly' concrete they put on all the kerb crossing points in Oxfordshire, and I had a definite moment turning at a junction at speed in the wet, although there does tend to be diesel film there.
I have had a couple of punctures, but the latest was a big piece of glass at dusk and I shall be replacing them with the same soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Have had these tires (28) on the rear wheel of my road bike and they have made the ride exceptionally fast and comfortable. Also NOT A SINGLE PUNCTURE in 3500km of riding on amazingly bad roads in North India.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Had these on my hybrid since October 2011 so they have coped with winter roads with no issues granted they are checked regularly for pressure and damage. These tyres replaced Maxxis Detonators which I found very good so they have had to perform.
I did find these tyres fairly skittish at first but I do think that was just me getting used to the different profile and nothing to do with grip which I have later found to be very good.
As I said previously I have had no issues in nearly 1000 miles and I will be rotating back to front to give me even wear.
All in all I would recommend these tyres.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I fitted these to my Hybrid as I've a charity cycle coming up and wanted something a bit quicker.
I swapped out my Continental 28 x 1 3/8 x 1 5/8 Double Fighter II tyres for these.
I found they pretty easy to fit to my rims and as a bonus they came with a free tube.
I'd imagine that the reflex (reflective strip) will be very effive during the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I got 700x28 version of this tyre for my hybrid to speed up the commute. They do roll FAST!
I replaced a 700x37 tyre with one of these, and it does feel like I'm back on a racer again.(On city roads that means dodging potholes once more , so maybe a wider tyre would be better;)
They are slicks & though aquaplaning isn't an issue for bikes I've yet to try things like cornering on adverse camber in the wet. I rode in the wet/rain and tyre felt pretty grippy.
One negative: tyre can be *HARD* to fit so (metal?) tyre levers or some form of assistance may be required. My plastic levers just managed it. Obviously this means you REALLY don't want a puncture on the road. I bought the kevlar tape - "Panaracer Flataway Puncture Protection - 700c" for £9.99 at the same time, so hopefully I won't get a puncture.
The tyre comes with a 12 month warranty & free inner tube. Tyre runs at 102psi/7bar.
Tube lost around 10psi in pressure when not in use for a week, which signals it is very elastic and less prone to punctures.
Service-wise: "In stock" was displayed and I bought two, but must have bought the last one. So it's been two weeks between getting each tyre. Perhaps call them if you're considering fitting a pair to check stock quantity before ordering.
Items sent from N.Ireland, so no issues with delivery (One day after dispatch).
All in all, service is great just like the tyres. Looking forward to cycling along with cars again thanks to these tyres!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I'm delighted with these tyres. I moved onto them from Continental's City Contacts and use Schwalbe Marathon's on another bike and was surprised at just how fast and smooth the ride improvement they provide over the others. The Sport Contacts have superb road handling - although I've not tested them with any hi-speed cornering in the wet - they continue to go well in a straight line! I've also logged over 500+ miles on shoddy London roads and I've not had any punctures yet either.
