I bought a "vintage" road bike last summer and it came with a set of Continental World Tour tyres. They dragged so much against the road I needed something a bit slicker. I didn't want to spend a fortune and these tyres seemed like a good buy. They were. Riding got a lot easier, resistance from the road was greatly decreased but I could still ride the bike comfortably in damp conditions despite the "slick" appearance. They really helped pushing for some faster times.
However. I only had them on for around 300 miles and in the last few miles I suffered a couple of punctures in the rear wheel. I'm not sure what the culprit was but where it had pierced the tyre the small puncture began to tear. It could have been a small piece of glass I ran over but once the tyre was punctured that was the end of it.

Good tire. Used the 4000s, and I bought these for testing. I liked the grip, despite being below the 4000s. Worth the price paid and is certainly better than any tire I've ever used. Being easy to assemble is also a positive factor for the tire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CRISTOS poor puncture protection awful grip
possibly the worst tyte i have ever ridden
the grip is really poor, especially in the wet-really risky to ride on these
this is supposed to be a trainning tyre but it does not have any serious puncture protection,
be prepared for frequent puntures, and with a really short mileage life
tyres like vittoria rubino with half the price are much much better
DO NOT BUY

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hoggy1711 Good value, but poor puncture resistance
I bought a set (in red, which looked amazing on my red/white bike, although sadly they only do them in black or white now) at Easter for my old Viking road bike, which I use around town (as a student) and whilst saving up for a better bike for the winter. My new winter bike (a Boardman Comp) also came with a set.
They're great value, cheap, and easy to fit. They have reasonable grip levels, and decent rolling resistance, especially considering the price.
Unfortunately, they have poor puncture resistance - I've had at least two separate occasions of three-four punctures in a single week. They're fine if I'm just riding around town, but for doing any real cycling, the risk of punctures is too high.
For this reason I've recently ordered a new set for my Viking for around town (the previous ones have worn), but will be ordering some better winter tyres for my Boardman (probably Hutchinson Intensives).

Rated 5 out of 5 by peanut the best brand ever
since i can remember i've always liked continental. of course i've tried other brands but they either wear down to quick or you grip is limited. but with continental you know you're on the right path.

Rated 4 out of 5 by muagie Great entry level race type tire
Not too heavy, low rolling resistance, and excellent grip even when wet. This tire just lacks in the durability aspect , dont expect too many miles as they get cut up very easily. Not very puncture resistant as small holes tend to gash open over time. Great if looking for a fast tire at a low price.

Had one ofhese on a replacement wheel so thought being a tight Yorkshireman why buy 2 tyres when you can get one? What a mistake after 5 punctures and 1 new tube later these have gone in bin. The structure must be very weak as I found that all the punctures happened after the roads had been freshly gritted and on inspection afer replacing them I found little nicks in the surface of both tyres.
If Continental could sort out the puncture problem they would be a good tyre offering good rolling resistance and grip even in the wet. I also think that they could be summer tyre when the roads are a little cleaner.
Iwll go back to Continetal Sports Contact tyres as these do last.

These tyres a re a good training tyre or entry level racing tyre. They do not have a Kevlar bead. They will offer a little in the form of being puncture proof but you could go for the likes of Gatorskins as they are specifically made for longevity and being puncture proof.
