Continental Vertical Tyre

The Modern Classic.

The vertical has everything a classic tyre needs. It is all home on all trails, really showing what it can do when the terrain turns rugged. Still the top choice for tours in Alpine terrain where low weight and high puncture protection are paramount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent grip... super sticky in mud!!! Fantastic grip when riding through mud, sometimes a bit too much when riding XC through mud on the level or uphill and can add a lot of friction and slow you down. 02 July 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great grip This tyre has a good grip and looks. Nice and tight fit around the rim and love the spiders web design ;) 05 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best all round tyres bar none Not the best quality... but for the price they`re unbeatable.Been using these tyres all year round in Scotland and they`re awesome in the mud, grip well in the dry and aren`t too bad on the road either as long as you pump them up.When they wear out, chuck em away and buy another pair... i`m on my 4 th set now 23 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by You can't go wrong at this price I know these are an old design, and I know the wire beads are not as light as the folding ones, but they work for me. Once the release agent is worn off they grip like a very grippy thing, had three days at Afan in glorious Welsh weather (Rain, shine and some mist) and they performed well on all trail conditions, hard pack, mud, rock even tarmac was not too bad. The design may be old, but it's the same rock it's rolling over and at £25 a pair they are tip top. 21 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by рекомендую Благодаря особой формы шипов, покрышка легко чиститься и грязь не налипает. При этом всём она хваткая на дороге. Соотношение цены и качества прекрасно. 14 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Grippy Value Tyre I was thinking of trying some new tyres in the wet, claggy muddy trails that are local, after wearing down the standard Maxxis Advantage tyres (which were ok), and coming off a few on muddy, leafy trails), I thought I'd try this at little of £13 each. After taking them for their first run in the Forest of Dean (my first time there too# I was pleased that they held better than expected, you find that they'll slide a little and then grip. This takes a bit of getting used to but it's controllable. They hold well and grip over roots and rocks better than the Maxxis Advantage, the plug through mud well and shed it easily. They size up differently to others. These 2.3" are the same as Maxxis 2.25". Not much difference, but Continental measure their tyres differently to others #Sidewall to Sidewall I believe, rather than across the tread, or vice versa) so they do come up slightly slimmer. The only question - why do they mould spider webs into the tyre?! On hard pack, rocks, loose mud, roots and leaves they perform well, not tried on Tarmac yet. For the money, they're definitely worth a go! Tread blocks are numerous and pronounced which helps with the grip on the softer stuff. 12 November 2013

Answer:
This model of Continental vertical tyre is a wire bead variety.

This helps bring the price of the tyre down to make a very good tyre more affordable.

The tyre has a high volume casing to allow more comfort and grip at lower pressures.
