I bought these for my specialized epic 29er. Use them at least twice a week, with a 3.5 hour ride on Saturday through a retired quarry trail in Pulau Ubin (Ketam park - Singapore). These have taken many hard whacks from stones along the way and haven't shown any signs of breaking or distress. Scratches yes, but that's to be expected.
I just bought a 2nd pair of these for my son's bike.
I know they have rebuild kits for these, but they seem quite good so far, after 1+ years of hard riding.
Note: You do need to buy the Crank Brothers cleats for these

Rated 1 out of 5 by ReddMudd87 You can't get out of these once clipped in
I've been riding mtb's for about 25 yrs, many pedal types. Bought these because knee issues required a little more float, which they delivered, and to clear mud better than SPD's, which they do. But, I found them really hard to unclip from, even after riding on them for a couple of months - if anything they got worse. Ultimately this caused me to fall on, and break, a perfectly good Santa Cruz Blur frame (not to mention my butt). So I'm going back to my SPD's,even if it means dealing with the mud, before I break another frame or suffer a worse injury than a bruised butt.

I have bought 4 pairs of the candy pedals now and unfortunately one of the pair have let me down. After only a few rides the spindle has become almost rigid and this makes it very difficult to clip in. I'm not sure about returning them but I will investigate....other than that pair I've been really happy with their performance. They have saved me on numerous occasions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Excellent piece of kit
I have used many clipless road and mtb pedals over 20 odd years and have been using the candy 2's for 3 years. The orange anodising is very tough and the pedals nearly look as good as they did 3 years ago (they can take a good bashing). Silky smooth ride and VERY easy to clip into (they don't clip out when you don't want them to either). Buy them, excellent for cross-country riding.
