Rated 3 out of 5 by Rossyp Nicely machined seat post but Clamp lets it down
Well bought this to replace my Easton seat post as I damaged a bolt on it, so its a nicely machined seat post and not to heavy,
However it only gets 3 stars as the clamp itself is annoying and also needs a torque rather than a Hex / Allen Key to tighten which can rip our knitting when your out on your first ride and realise that you need to adjust the angle of the saddle,
So for that annoyance 3 stars, I got a new bolt for my Easton so thats back on,

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daren Bought two. Like them
Needed two seat-posts with no setback on them. Got these clearance so half price which was a total bargain. Have installed both and they look great. The dots marked on the stem are very useful for aligning the seat as well as marking your set height. A little fiddly to fit and definitely worth fitting the saddle loosely before putting the stem on the frame. They take a slightly disconcerting amount of pressure to tighten the hex bolt but its what the instructions say and once its tightened, every thing feels very secure. Another bonus is because the seat is tightened by hex bolt, it is slightly more thief proof as this is a more uncommon fitting although you might need to buy one yourself. The clamp is designed for 7mm diameter rails so if you have 7x9 rails you will need to buy their adaptor kit separately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by greggers Very disappointing.
I bought this because it was a decent price at £20 and it looks the part but, i have to agree with a lot of others and say that it doesn't clamp the seat rails anywhere near as much as it should do.
It almost feels like the bolt will sheer or the alan key will be rounded off. It really takes a LOT of effort to tighten it up and the seat still has some play in it. It's a shame because it's a really clever design and is very light.
Not what you'd expect from Crank Brothers.

Light enough given the strength and length of stem. Very easy saddle adjustment

Well made, quality seat post. Clamps securely, doesn't creek when under load.

I'm tall (6'4"), so I bought the 400mm version for my MTB which did come in a very pretty box. My first ride was spent tightening up the single stardrive bolt as my seat moved when I hit a decent bump/drop. The mechanism on the cobalt seat post just isn't solid enough to hold in place at the extremities of its range. Using loctite helped a little. I moved back to my shorter Gravity post whilst my search continues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Excellent
Bought this as it sounded just what I wanted, being a crank brothers product I had high hopes. When it got delivered I was not disappointed, first off it comes brilliantly packaged in a display box that must cost a quid, but it all enhances the purchase experience. The post I bought was a 400mm 30.9mm and it weighs 282g, plenty acceptable, the anodizing and the markings are top quality and although the seat may seem fiddly to fit at first, being a very different clamp, it holds the saddle securely and is very simple to adjust, just make sure you have a t25 torx key. overall excwllent, would love to buy the carbon version and it's just a pity you can't choose the anodized seat clamp brackets in colours, however that does not distract from the value of such a quality item. 5 star all the way. will update in three months.
