Rated 5 out of 5 by Nsbikes26 functional high quality multitool
After using a massive range of Multitools and portable Allen key sets the crank bros 17 and 19 sets are the best quality I have used. The high quality steel does not twist or shatter or get rounded off even after a full year of weekly use and I have had no rust forming what so ever. I have seen reviews for this product with complaints of rusting but I have used this tool in all weathers with no problems, the only way I can see it rusting is if you left it in a puddle of water for a few days. The range of tools available is impressive covering basically every common metric Allen key size that you find on mtb's or bmx's. It also comes with a useful range of screwdrivers and a really good chain tool which has actually outlasted 3 of my single chain tools which cost nearly as much as this multitool. Some people may find it difficult to get leverage as the metal can dig in to the palm of the hand but using a cloth to protect your hand makes the whole process about 20 times easier an I can guarantee you with have no problem using this as a very strong and functional chaintool. The build quality is great no cheap metal and no plastic means there's no chance of snapping or damaging the tool when tightening to high torque ratings. I also looks great and is a very respectable weight considering you get 19 tools in one. Another complaint I've heard with this tool is that the length of the tools are not long enough... Your buying a compact multitool not a set of workshop full size tools so they are of course going to be shorter. I use the 8mm and 6mm to tighten my pedals and rear wheel 10mm bolt in axel with no problem at all. I have horizontal dropouts on my 26" park rig and you need to tighten your 10mm bolts very tight to prevent the back wheel moving, I use this tool every time I take my wheels on and off. It works great is very reliable also has impressive range of functions looks great in a compact package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by chikachik A good quality well equipped trail tool !
I have used this tool for a few months now and am very pleased with it
important to remember that this is a TRAIL multitool - a" bike penknife" not a full toolkit
It is not intended as a replacement for a well stocked tool box
but out on the trail it has all the tools you need on the fly
I have used the chain tool easily though it may not be strong enough
for the latest generation of 9 and 10 speed chains
the two torx drives are very handy and are missing on the "17" variant
the 8mm allen key probably won't provide the leverage needed to remove a pedal
but when did you last need to take the pedals off during a ride
The only real missing tool is a set of durable pliers
so you could consider also packing a leather man type multitool
complete your kit with a compact pump and puncture kit and you are ready to roll
i use a BB bottle cage mount tool carrier and with the exception of the pump
all the above kit fits in fine i also carry a twin ended screwdriver
and a spare tube.

My first multi-tool and not so impressed. Bought this on the recommendation of a multi-tool review. As with so many reviews, I believe that it was biased. This tool works OK but after 4 months it has become seriously rusty. Also the hex heads themselves are a little on the small side which provides the potential of damaging (rounding) stubborn bolts.

I think that this multi tool is great I have had it for about a year now. The bad thing is if you dont tighten the allen key bolts on the side it will fall apart which happened to me i put it together again and when it had fallen it apart i had lost some of the washers which were dividing up all of the multi tools and now it is all loose. It still does the job it was intended to do now. I would recommend this product but just watch the allen key bolts on the side.

Not sure how this multi tool and it's 17 tool little brother got all the rave reviews here and elsewhere.
Yes it has a good range of very short Allen keys etc which after a few months of ownership are standing up well but are limited value because of their length.
Here's the rub. The chain splitter is almosts unusable in its design so beware if you are on out and actuall need to use it! The only way I have been able to split a chain with this multi tool is to get hold of the splitter with a 6" adjustable spanner to get the leverage to actually split the chain. My previous Topeak multi tool which was cheaper and is still going strong, works much better, until you loose the clip on lever for the splitter.
Overall a well built te of Allen keys and drives, and the spoke key seems to work ok on my MTB. But don't buy this if you want a chain splitter.

Good tool, quite heavy but having all the tools you could ever need outweighs having to lug it around. Chain breaker is very good and it seems that they've fit more tools into this thing then the geordie shore house! Mine now after 6 months has started to rust a bit and I had to loosen up the screws on the sides. Would buy it again

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Very good multitool
I've had this tool for about 6 months now and I am impressed. Almost every tool you need when out riding. Some people are saying they expected more tools but I feel that any more would be complete overkill for a trail tool. Remember- this tool is not to have instead a full tool kit, it is more of a portable extra. Chain tool actualy works but takes some real effort on heavy duty single speed halflink chains like I have on my dirt jumper. The tool comes with a case but I'm not such a fan of it myself - too much faff taking it in and out for me. I either put the tool in my pocket or in a ziplock clear plastic bag in my rucksack to prevent damage to my other stuff and to stop it getting too wet. The allen keys, torx keys and screw drivers are good quality and havn't rounded off and the tool is very smart and sleek and I would say it's just about the best you can buy. Only realy lezyne tools compare - don't bother with topeak unless it's for pumps ;D Cheers cranks brothers for a top quality tool and cheers chain reaction cycles for top quality service! :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous great tool
Has everything you need. Had it for 3 years & it is rust free (i don't know what went wrong with the other reviewers). A (-) for not having a tyre lever but nothing serious, i keep a park tool one with me. Durable and in a realy nice metal case too.
