  • Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. Cube use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
  • Frame Safe System: To protect their high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.
  • Aluminium Lite: 6061 aluminium alloy requires a heat treatment for the finished product. It is a stiff, very corrosion resistant, fatigue resistant, high-elongation material suitable for light tubesets with high stiffness.
  • Agile Ride Geometry: Cube ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in their series of big wheel bikes. Three important details resulted. Increased fork offsets allows for the same trail as Cube's 26in bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel. Secondly they shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. A patented construction to mount the front derailleur gives more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size. Last but not least the BB height remains the same as on their 26in bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position. Every mountain biker will feel immediately at home on a CUBE 29er or 27.5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great bike - except for the pedals Purchase about in July 2014. I'm very happy with the bike, except for the really poor quality pedals. The supplied pedals not only are quite slippery - not aggressive enough teeth - , but the bearings creak under light strain, and sound like they are about to break when under heavy strain. 07 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A lot for your money As a keen middle distance runner looking to mix it up with cycling, I spent some time looking for the best option in my price bracket, so hopefully this will be useful to someone. From the research I did a lot of other options in this price bracket didn't have the full complement of quality components this does. The Rock shox, though I haven't put them through very hard terrain yet have a great responsive feel and the brakes are superb. I am still finding a handlebar configuration that I am totally happy with, but it takes only moments to adjust the angle of the bars and the brake lever angles with the supplied keys. A review elsewhere suggested the bike was a little on the heavy side but I find it light enough and very responsive. Looks wise I can't fault it. Overall very happy with purchase. 24 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A bit of a wolf I confess I am a fan of the Hardtail, mostly likely because I cannot afford full sus. so when I started searching for a new bike, I took a very long hard look at what was available within my budget. before opting for the Acid. Now no mountain bike is perfect, but bearing in mind this bike is well short of the Grand mark, I am well pleased with it. its well put together, very responsive, the 27.5 wheels seem to deliver more speed with less energy output, Though I confess I was a bit unsure of the tire choice (easily changed) having read some reviews ,But those seem a bit unfounded, I have just thrown this bike down a trail, and it gripped well, no problems with berms, Thanks to the larger wheel size the extra speed generated, I had no problem catching air in places I have never done before, The Rock Shox's with the air pressure correctly adjusted are very responsive and smooth, easy to lock when the going gets a bit smoother, confess when hunting for a hardtail the right suspension is a major factor for me,so Cube's choice of the Rock Shox 30 Gold was a major selling point. For me this bike ticked all the right boxes, Having spent a few hours on trail centres. I am happy I have made the right choice 30 January 2014
