Cube Agree GTC SL Compact Road Bike 2013

Fast and furious. This road bike wants to be raced. The frame features RFR geometry for a relaxed and comfortable riding position to make riding out of the saddle easy and retain agile handling. Manufactured using Twin Mold technology, the frame is designed with frame with stiff oversized carbon tubes for stiffness and weighs in at only 1,150g. Add to this the stiff and lightweight wheelset a tapered steerer for a better distribution of forces and high-performance components and competitions will feel like fun. The Multi Purpose Hanger with the Frame Safe System allows for both transmission possibilities - classical and electronic shifting systems.

Technologies:

  • Press Fit BB: With press-fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows to build a wider down tube and more broadly spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.
  • Tapered Steerer: This new steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and generates a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means that the greatest possible steering precision is generated. With the larger steerer the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube.
  • Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. Cube use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
  • Twin Mould Technology: All GTC models are built using this complex manufacturingprocess. In this process possibly dangerous folding is eliminated by constant control of carbon fibres during the curing process. By using fixed internal forms at junction points the quantity of resin is considerably reduced and the fibres bonded more tightly together. The result is increased product safety and improved STW values.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tough to beat ? what a buy, hard to find fault with the gtc sl.ride is compliant, yet stiff, with enough give to still be comfortable.groupset is superb.how do they do that at that price!.if i was to change any items, it would be a carbon seatpost and the seat.both of these are personal preference.otherwise i'd say it's a steal !!!! gunngo 15 December 2013
