Answer: 
You can fit traditional style or the more modern quick release style of guards to this bike. With a 622-44 tyre you'll need a wide traditional guard such as the 700-50mm Chromoplastics linked below. For modern style guards, any 29er compatible guards should be fine (such as the ToPeak Defenders below).
