CycleOps Fluid 2 Trainer

If it's important to you to make every workout count, the Fluid2 trainer is the most valuable weapon you can add to your indoor training arsenal.

Our engineers designed the Fluid 2 to capture real road feel through the use of a 2.75 lb individually precision–balanced flywheel for more momentum and stability of your rear wheel.

We've also adjusted fluid levels for better resistance and improved the position of sealed–cartridge bearings for better inertia and an ultra quiet ride that ensures increased wattage as you increase your speed.

And just like riding outside, simply shift gears to increase or decrease resistance. When you spin your wheels on the Fluid2 it feels like you're actually getting somewhere.

Design Features:

Stop logging junk miles and start employing our exclusive PowerTuned technology—the result of scientific and athletic collaboration. Now riding the trainer feels more like riding on the road because your wheel accelerates and decelerates on an infinite resistance curve, just like it does outside.

Professional cyclists and renowned scientist Allen Lim worked together to develop a power curve based on a hybrid of road and time trial positions, finding the point at which a speed of 25 mph overlaps with an output of 400 watts.

This point of overlap is where the optimal power curve resides and is the basis for PowerTuned technology. By training on a PowerTuned curve, you benefit from the most true-to-life speed verses power contingency, no matter what speed you ride at.

Built to Last:

PowerTuned technology isn't the only reason why the Fluid2 is the best trainer on the market. We believe you should have as much faith in your training tools as you do in yourself, which is why the Fluid2, like all of our trainers, is backed by a lifetime warranty.

That's also why it's constructed from sturdy, 2-inch round, 16-gauge steel and has adjustable footpads for stability no matter what surface you're on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great piece of equipment Bought this after it won the "most recommended" turbo trainer in Cycling Plus magazine and have not been disappointed. Would recommend you use with a climbing block for best results. Very quiet and really smooth. Easy to assemble and packs away in seconds 05 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This trainer is easy quiet and quick to set up This is my first trainer ,I went for a fluid model as I want something quiet to use indoors. I am not disappointed it makes some noise but not enough to disturb people watching tv in next room. I found chain reactions a dream to deal with and delivery was very fast 04 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 3rd Time Lucky This is my third turbo trainer and it's a step up from anything else I have tried,it feels as close to the real thing as it gets,it does exactly as it says on the tin.im not sure how the resistance works but its just like cycling on the road, push the pedals and the resistance builds just like it should, the bracket holding the resistance unit looks a bit fragile but as there's a lifetime warranty it should be ok,it was warp speed delivery from crc and this unit will get more use than my previous turbos as its a better ride, cheers 30 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great piece of equipment Great bit of kit for indoor training. The trouble is the weather in Perth is usually too nice for indoor training..... Generally well made, and good quality finish, although the adjustable clamp mechanism is a bit flakey. 08 April 2010

What size wheel?

I was just wondering what size wheels are suitable for this trainer and also is there a maximum weight limit? Recently new to cycling and want to keep it going during the winter months.

Answer:
This trainer accepts wheels sizes of 650b, 700c, 26" and 27" as standard. It is not compatible with 29" MTB wheels.

Cycleops do not list a rider weight limit for their trainers (which suggests there isn't one), and the steel legs are very sturdy. The trainers are backed by a lifetime warranty as well.

I own a 2011 Trek Remedy 9.7, which has a 142mm Maxle rear hub. I found no mention of this configuration in the product's specs, so it's unclear if it will fit my bike. Is there anyone who can provide a definitive answer to this? If Maxle is not compatible, is there any adapter / workaround available?
