Answer:
The bolt circle (BCD) refers to the distance between the bolt holes on the chainring. This is important as chainrings and cranks can have different bolt spacings.

The way to identify your current crank/chainring BCD is to get a ruler and measure the center to center of two adjacent bolt holes.

45.3mm measured will equal a 64mm BCD the most common for 22t size.

Answer:
In a four hole system such as SRAM the BCD (bolt circle diameter) is simply the distance between the hole centres of two opposite holes and is best measured from the outer edge of one hole to the inner edge of the opposite hole.

Five hole systems such as Shimano are more complicated.

1. Measure the distance between adjacent holes. Call this distance C.

2. Then the BCD is given by: BCD = C/sin(180/N) where N is the number of holes.

At present we do not have a directly compatible SRAM chainring to fit your crankset.

Please contact customer service with information regarding your crankset model and we can have a look at some alternatives.

I have a Giant Defy composite 3 which is fitted with a Hollowtech II tiagra chainset 50 X 34 standard compact. However being more used to standard road gearing I am finding that my preferred range is between the two. Therefore, I wondered if I can change to 52 X 36 or 38 chainrings and if these have to be specific to the tiagra chainset or will any shimano 10 spd do as I noticed you only seem to have Ultegra and Durace .

Thanks in advance

Answer:
I'm pretty sure praxis does a 52 or 53 that fits a compact spyder. More to the point I don't understand your comment that you prefer being between your 50 and 34, this would be reliant on your rear cassette and maybe that is the better place to look for several reasons including cost. For starters a 50- 11 is a slightly bigger gear than a 53 -12 so unless you really need to/can push a 53 -11 there is no need to be there. A 50 -34
up front gives you a broader range to any cassette than a 53 -39 and certainly than a 52 -39. So the compact gets you a slightly bigger gear, less overlap and and smaller gear with tighter shifts than the standard. Get a gear calculator chart and sort out your options with compact versus standard and various cassettes.
