I used to use a different brand self sealing tube. Tried these and they are excellent. The tube feels thicker which increases puncture resistance.
I use these on my xc race bike when punctures are not an option.
People comment about the extra weight? How heavy are the tyres when tread is full of mud?

Punctures can ruin a ride, so using these tubes is a no brainer for me.
I use them on my road bike and both my mountain bikes and so rarely get punctures I can't remember the last one.
They come pre-filled with a sealant, which of course is heavier than a standard tube, but they are resistant to thorns and other sharp edged items and protect you from countless punctures you never knew you'd avoided until you have to change one out.
They are well worth the extra weight in my opinion for the trouble free riding they offer. If you are a weight watcher on a cross country race machine they're probably not going to be for you, but for the rest of us, who are no doubt carrying a little extra weight on our bellies, is there really any other choice?
Some people here have complained about bad construction on the valves, but I have never had any issues of this kind at all. (user error?)

Rated 3 out of 5 by gunnbot Works well but the [presta] valve is very fragile.
For all the time I have had these tubes on my bike, which has been a few months (not that I ride that often but when I do it's in places where you'd expect to risk getting a puncture) I haven't had a puncture - which is good.
What is bad is that when I went to top up my front wheel with air the little bit inside the presta valve snapped off. That's never happened with any other inner tubes I have ever had so are these ones particularly fragile? Maybe, so be aware. A significant negative in my opinion.
But as testament to the self sealing nature of these tubes I switched the one with the busted valve back to my old 'normal' inner tube which immediately developed a puncture from a thorn which was sticking through the tyre - so they most definitely work as designed.
Alas, due to the valve problem (which I admit may have been a one in a million thing) I can't recommend these and won't be buying any more in the future. I'll try another brand.

After suffering a spate of punctures on my commute to work, I thought I'd give these a go and so bought 2. Wish I'd not bothered. One got a pinch flat on first use when running at 50psi with new tyres on too. The other wouldn't even inflate. Maybe I just got unlucky but I certainly won't be buying any more. Yeah I could return the one with the faulty valve but quite frankly I really can't be bothered packing it up and taking the time to go to the post office. I've wasted enough time on these tubes.

I have been using these tubes for 12,000 miles on road/off road
i have had 3 puncture's that required a pump to continue my journey,
if you want to forget punctures I would buy some ASAP

Valve failed soon after first use. Pretty poor really.

I've used these for a few years now, not bad for the money. I've had 1 (out of about 10) where the valve has just given up and spewed its slimey guts out. But apart from that they seem last quite well and certainly do stop most punctures.
Shame they don't make them wider as I end up using the 2.1 in 2.3 tyres which I would imagine is stopping me from getting maximum puncture resistance as its being stretched more than intended.
