Rated 4 out of 5 by Update! Well as my other review states overall this is a really good hub, BUT!!! after a ride out yesterday, in which i tackled a really steep slope(stupidly), i've found out one of the smaller individual sprockets had torqued round very hard and actually chewed into the splines, enough to stop me being able to get the cassette off to replace a spoke, and i had to remove each sprocket one by one(the 3 smaller ones) then file down the burr it had made in order to slide the cassette back on the splines. If i was i gear higher on the rear cassette i would have been using one of the sprockets mounted on the spider which would have spread the torque, but unfortunately i was using one of the smaller individual sprockets which ended up chewing into the splines quite bad. 04 January 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Laced up to a DT swiss XR 4.2d rim, it runs beautifully, emits a ratchet clicking noise when freewheeling that is audible but quiet if you know what i mean, nothing like what HOPE ones are like! Run an XT cassette which has been on and off a few times and it shows really minimal marks from the cassette torqueing on the splines, the disc mount faces are true providing a nice straight running disc, sounds silly to mention but my front Specialized Stout hub has the smallest discrepancy meaning the disc(203mm) is very hard to get to run without rubbing. The 10mm thru axle quick release is much better in use than a normal quick release, more secure, positive and in use inspires more confidence in knowing the wheel is secure from failure of the quick release in any way. Recommended hub, although i didn't purchase this(already fitted to my Specialized Epic)i can praise it highly. 06 December 2008
