Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Good Rims
I bought two of these two years ago from CRC in a sale for a tenner each (they were red). I built them up myself on XT hubs with DT spokes and they are just the job for trail and rocky (all)mountain use. I weigh 100kgs and they are still as true as the day I built them after hundreds of miles. They are 100g each heavier than my XC wheels (or the difference in some quality kevlar bead tyres and pork pie or so). I too struggled with tyre changes at first and then started taking a hotel bottle of shower gel in my trail bag to help slip them over the rims. However with practice (the trick being to ensure the bead isn't seated until the tyre is on the rim) I can now can fit just about anything without levers. After over 2 years the "nice" red paint is starting to bubble around the valve hole but if the black ones drop in price much more I will grab a spare set. (doh I should have slated them !)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous I run one of these rims on the back of my patriot for some time now and have had no problems, i mainly ride enduro and get my wheels off the deck now and then. Any way tryes i`ve found that fit ok are hutchinson toro`s good for winter, michelin all mountain extrems and kenda nevegal 2.35 but maxxis highroller are a mare too remove and will give you and your tyre levers a good work out..

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous A rim
Just got a pair of these on a new bike & after reading Ashleys comment dashed into the garage to check out tyre removal/fitting - didn't want any nasty surprises on the trail.
Needn't have worried - the factory fitted Moto Raptor wire beaded tyres came off reasonably easily using one plastic lever. I then effortlessy fitted & removed a Kevlar beaded Fire XC Pro - no different to my Mavic rims.
Other than that I've yet to ride them in anger.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous not so good rims..
these rims bent very easily, I bought them with my Sx-trail. I have used them for freeride. getting a tire on these are not actually a problem, you just need a kevlar tire like Schwalbe Big Betty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous Nice Quality but a faff to get tyres onto
Make sure you buy some nice big metal tyre levers with these rims. CRC built up a really good set of wheels with Pro II rims & DT comp spokes, but it takes me half an hour to get the tyres on & off again. I have snapped countless plastic tyre levers and now must rely on the big metal ones.
It's a shame as they spoil a great rim & good alternative to Mavic.
