Rated 1 out of 5 by Dt Swiss x 12 wrong thread pitch Crc need to offer more product information with this part I bought it to fit my 2012 Orbea Rallon R3 but the thread pitch on the skewer doesn't match up with the thread pitch on my rear dropouts I am waiting for a response from crc on this matter, I am not impressed as it has taken me nearly 12 months to track down the correct parts for my bike to do the 142 x 12 conversion and now I don't have a skewer that fits 12 July 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs a lot more info CRC you need more info - I bought this to go with my new iodine wheels on a moondraker frame but hey no nut so it floats free - had to go to another site to get the correct product which does come with the additional nut 50 euros down the drain ... :-( you have been warned! 22 June 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bueno pero no perfecto EL cierre funciona correctamente, pero para hacerlo funcionar he tenido que quitar la arandela que lleva. 06 May 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great products but threading don't fit! Just got my hands on it. Was happy with the built. But when I tried installing it and then realized the threading does not match my Giant Trance. As I am from overseas, it is too expensive to ship back. Need information on the products description to warn potential buyer on the threading. 23 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bien pensé ! produit léger, solide, avec un astucieux système de serrage. Par contre, le levier de serrage est un peu exposé, à voir selon ton cadre ! 15 February 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by really good and nice looks didnt really get to try it because the thread on my bike and the thread on the skewer was different, so before you buy a skewer, see the skewer thread. or else youll end up wasting money like me 14 January 2014

Answer:
You will need to contact your local Specialized dealer to confirm if you are using this Syntace X12 standard, or the RockShox Maxle standard. I believe Specialized use the Syntace standard so this DT Swiss RWS axle should be fine, but I would recommend double checking with a Specialized dealer first.

Answer:
I believe the Zesty ran the X12 standard, so this DT Swiss axle should be suitable, yes. You can double check with your local Lapierre dealer to confirm if they use the X12 or Maxle standards and buy below as appropriate.

This will fit any frame that runs the Syntace X12 axle standard. You will need to check with your local Specialized dealer/ store to confirm which axle standard you are running.

Answer:
if it is the syntace thread, take a look at the threads on your bike, if they are fine threads then should do. Also on the rear triangle on frame, it may say what system it is. I have the Stumpjumper and it uses this system

I own a Commencal Meta AM 29er 2013 and I need to replace Formula FQR-12m axle that originally came with my bike. Would DT Swiss RWS X-12 be a direct replacement?

Answer:
I believe the 2013 Meta AM frame uses the Maxle standard of rear axle, which uses a different thread pattern to the RWS. The 142mm axle you can use is linked below.

Will this fit the Nukeproof mega 2012

Hi,

Will this replace the axle on a 2012 Nukeproof mega which is 12x135mm? Am I correct in thinking that the 142 measurement is applicable to the internal measurements of the dropouts rather than external measurement of the swing arm?

Thanks,

Harry.

Answers

Answer:
The 2012 Mega is drilled for a Maxle and not a RWS skewer.

The internal dropout width is in relation to the hub width that is being inserted into it. As the 2012 Mega runs on a 135 x 12mm hub, a 135 x 12mm skewer is required.

The suggested Maxle listed below is what you require.
