This really does the job! I fitted it to my triple ring setup with no problems at all with the BB mount. It just tkes a bit of adjusting to get the position just right so that you can back pedal without the chain dropping to the lower ring. All you need if you want to flick your crank back half a turn. This stops chain slap going downhill and is smooth and quiet when pedaling. I love this device since I gave up my DH bike and upgraded my trail bike to DO IT ALL!!! I have never dropped a chain with this mounted.I also use an outer bash ring and this makes the setup bomb proof. If you want to keep your outer ring to crank some speed downhill or use it on the road to get to your local trails, this is what you need.

This is ideal for my triple setup. If I want to swap the large ring for a bash at at later date I can do that easily enough. This was the main reason I opted to pay £50 for this instead of £20 for a Black Spire double roller.
It is dead easy to fit. I have a BB30 Cannondale RZ140 frame - with the Shimano insert - and only had to remove one spacer to accept the guide. (I got the BB version, as don't have ISCG tabs on my frame.)
The guide runs super quiet, as the chain moves less, which compensates for the small noise from the roller. In fact, overall I'd say it is quieter than a standard setup.
Can't understand why these aren't more popular? Yes, everyone is going down the bash and double route, but it is still nice to have a large chainring even if you don't use it very often.
My chain is secure now, whereas before it came off everytime I kamikaze'd a fast downhill, which lead to a big gouge on my crank arm.
Go buy one now before they're all gone!

Fitted this to my Mountain Cycle Rumble. Stops any chain movement over moderate bumps. Chain stayed on doing drop offs and riding steps. I got the bottom bracket version which is crafted to fit around the old ISCG mount. It was fast and simple to fit. The only minute niggle was that the outer lip on the roller is very lightly fouled by the drive crank pedal position marker rivet. This however does not casue any damage or discernable resistance. Overall a fantastic product if you want to keep your 3 ring setup. Buy and enjoy!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous £63 to exacerbate a problem anyone?
I imported one of the original Heim devices from America and it was just awful, really awful. This looks awfully similar, apart from a £40 price hike to an outrageous £63.
Position the roller close enough to the chain ring to offer a useful level of retention and the tapered roller drags the chain off the big ring towards the bottom bracket.
If you frequently loose your chain and like pedalling uphill then buy any one of the stepped roller, dual ring + bashring setups available e.g. Blackspire Stinger, e13 DSS, DRS etc.
