Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for night/rainy day training. I got this as my first home trainer. At first, i was so stressed to get used to it. But 30 min later, I became able to ride. And 3 days later, I became able to enjoy it. Now it's perfect for my night training. Pros: -Silent -Not heavy -able to change resistance Cons: -Spend hard time to get used to it at first -Sole is just plastic. I put some rubber so as not to slip. 14 November 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for those long winter nights If you absolutely have to train inside instead of hitting the trails this is a good way to go. It took me a couple of goes to get the balance right, with the seat lowered a bit to make step offs easier. But now I am happy clipped in and at full seat height. But definitely takes more concentration than a turbo trainer keeping it a bit less boring, but the lips on the rollers mean that if you run up against the edge, you have plenty of time to unclip and get your foot down. With practice you can then ride back into the middle. My pedal stroke has definitely improved along with overall balance on the bike in slippery conditions. When you get totally comfortable on the rollers and start to get bored then you can liven it up again by distracting yourself with a DVD or varying your cadence. High cadence sprints take a lot of concentration. The top resistance level doesn't compete with a turbo trainer in climbing mode, but is definitely enough to get a good sweat going. 14 March 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Rollers I've had I don't like turbos, and find that rollers give me a much more realistic ride - but until these rollers they were just too easy compared with the road, even when using high gears. The resistance settings on the V-Arion completely overcomes this and gives a ride much closer to the real world - all they need now is the ability to link the resistance unit to a Tacx DVD! 16 January 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent appareil, très sécurisant idéale pour l'entrainement et la concentration. pardonne les petites erreur du débutant grace a des rouleaux relevés sur les bords et super le réglage de la duretée. 04 October 2009
Rated 4 out of 5 by So far so good This is an excellent training device, rollers are very different to turbos and take quite a bit of patience to get used to. The novelty of the V-Arion is that you have three levels of resistance so it's not just a tool for perfecting your spinning. Moreover one can easily ride at 250 watts in the lowest resistance level so there is plenty of scope for torturous training. My one concern is that it's rather plasticky in design, time will tell whether it holds up. 27 August 2009
