Rated 5 out of 5 by Affordable Reactive Glasses I bought these based primarily on the desire to have one pair of glasses to suit all lighting conditions when you are not entirely sure how conditions will fluctuate. They are competitively priced in comparison to some makes of reactive sunglasses and look good and fit nicely. They provided a good level of eye cover so that I didn't experience any tears as a result of the wind and so there was no fogging. The lenses reacted well to the conditions. It was a bright sunny winter day, no rain but some wet road surfaces with some glare from them. There was a slight glare from wet road surface but not such that it caused any problems. As it is winter time that I have started to use these it remains to be seen how dark they will go in the high summer but I suspect that on those days when you know that it is going to be bright sun for the full ride I will use a different pair anyway. So far so good. 08 February 2014

Answer:
The lens on these glasses is light reactive.

The light transmittance range is from 80% - 20% so they will not go completely black.

Answer:
Hi, I would say that these glasses do have a very low tint level to start with but it is so negligible that in a low level of lighting condition or even the dark it would not present any hazard. I used them for the first time the other day in winter sun with some glare from the road. They performed well. It is quite a large lens area so provides good coverage. The lenses tinted well to the low in the sky sun. I was aware to an extent of some glare from the wet road surface but it was not distracting and I soon forgot about it and that may well have been due to the lens darkening. I don't think reactive glasses can ever go to the full dark end of the spectrum that one shade sunglasses can but it is about weighing up the pros in terms of going out in conditions that could alter during your ride, a definite hazard over here in England as you start out with full shade glasses and end up in conditions that are too dark for the lens. I will be using these as my primary pair from now on.
