Rated 4 out of 5 by Camnrtn Not ideal for serious mountain biking
I bought this to help getting back on the saddle after a wrist injury. It really helps in terms of providing support, and during a 2 week tour they were great little cushions for my hands. But! For XC mountain biking I don't feel as confident as you can't fully wrap your hand around it, so now I'm looking at some regular lock-ons. Great quality etc., but trail riders beware

Purchased these grips to prevent numbness in the hands on long rides - works perfectly! Such good grips that I only intended to use them on my XC bike but am now also planning to use on my new all mountain mtb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brisket These really take a load off your hands
You don't notice the extra weight.
You can still grip the bars securely when the going gets technical.
They do not get in the way of brakes nor shifters.
They do really stop the soreness/numbness/fatigue in the hands I used to get when riding for more than an hour. They do this by providing a wide, flat area for you to rest the heel of your hand on.
