Rated 3 out of 5 by Set it up right! When I first bought this gun it was great - even heavy grease worked smoothly and quickly but as another reviwer says you must make sure you get all of the air out - otherwise you can pump hard and virtually nothing will ever come out of the nozzle. This really should be pointed out on the packaging. 25 March 2010
Rated 2 out of 5 by Bad value Just got one of these, not too happy. Build feels a bit cheap and it's not pumping much grease. For the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. 19 February 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great If set up properly with the no air inside grease comes out quickly and controlled really good for greasing hard to get parts and it can force grease into places like pedals etc. 13 February 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by great, works really good, nice and thin you can get it right where you want it, worth the money... 19 January 2009
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dud "Massive disappointment" sums this one up. Having umm-ed and ahh-ed about getting one for a while I decided to do away with greasy fingers and fork out a tenner. Bad move, the nozzle is so tiny what comes out is 1/10th the size of worm sh*t so it takes forever to dispense the amount of grease you'd need for anything other than lubing one ball bearing. That's if it dispenses grease that is. I'm using it with Park Tool Polylube 1000 Grease and it won't pick it up from the lube. Before that I tried it with the dregs of a very old tube (circa '95) tube of Exus which was much more viscous and it wouldn't do that either. I'd like to throw it away but I'm still in love with the idea of the right amount of grease in the right place at the right time. If I knew then what I know now, and my advice to you, is to not bother with this and use your fingers instead. 14 January 2009

Answer:
The threads on the Park grease tube are too small a diameter to fit on this gun.

I would recommend the following grease for this gun.

Answer:
According to Park Tool:
While we do not have a recommended grease gun, any grease gun with 9/16" threading will fit the threading on the PPL-1 tube. We would recommend verifying the internal threading with the grease gun manufacturer to assure compatibility.

And FinishLine Grease Gun is compatible with most standard 9/16" threaded tubes of grease. But will not fit 1/2" threaded tubes, such as Finish Line's 2oz Ceramic Grease Tube and Phil Wood's 3oz Tube.
