The FireEye SSK (Single Speed Kit) converts a standard 8/9-speed shimano-splined cassette hub to a single speed hub in a snap. The SSK comes with two (12/13T, 14/16T, or 16/18T) cogs, 3 different sized alloy spacers to provide proper chainline alignment, and a lock ring to keep everything locked down tight. You'll be pleasantly surprised how easy and enjoyable a single speed can be.

Kit Includes:

  • 3 different sized threaded spacers
  • 2 cogs
  • Lockring

Cog Options (for single speed chains only):

  • 12t and 13t cogs
  • 14t and 16t cogs
  • 16t and 18t cogs
  • Colour: Pink
  • Size: 14 & 16t
  • Option: 7 Speed Cogs
Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent product i wasn't too sure about the quality of this product because of the price, but i soon as i opened it i knew i was wrong. the gears are nice and thick and they do not look like they will bend easily. the paint job looks and is great looks so much better than my old silver one. 25 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by One of the greatest choice for 12~13t cog single speed conversion Many products are made without thinking for small cogs. If you want to use 12t cog, this will be the best choice. The 3mm true 1/8 inch width ensures the durability and is really good for your expensive hub's aluminum freewheel body protection. Again this is perfect because of its splined design which makes this kit more rigid and stiffer. This splined spacer design is very important even essential to make this spacer's diameter thinner enough to use 1/8" single speed chain without any compatibility issue. That is the reason why I always choose this kit. There are other this kind of kits out there. But only this kit includes 2 cog at the same price range. 24 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple single speed conversion Changing over to Single speed on my xc race bike was made easy with this set up. Cogs are easy to obtain to help set gearing to your preference. A year's xc racing without any problems so far, 09 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome I use this in the winter months on my dirt jumper at the skate park, and for the price can't be beat. Including 2 cogs worked out great so you can switch out between rides if you know what you're going to be riding. 04 July 2013
11 September 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Satisfied with the product Overall I'm pretty happy with the product. I have now been using it for a year and it still holds up great and still looks new. At first it didn't fit my hub så I sanded one of the spacers down 2mm or so and made it fit perfectly. Overall quite happy with the product. The cogs are not the best quality but they work fine. For the price it's a great product for trying out it you like singlespeed. 28 July 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible, terrible cog! Listen up someone: the cogs that come with this kit are not fit for purpose. The 14t cog in my kit was visibly poorly made (adjustments had been made with a grinder before chrome plating, just for a start). Not only that, but I frankly question the design of the teeth in the first place (angled all the way up, with a very narrow tip). Yes it is chrome plated, but it is mild steel! Very soft, and easily marked, dented or bent - give it a go, you could do it with your teeth. This kit went on a new built bike, and the chain jumped a tooth everytime I applied decent torque through the crank! On a single speed, with tensioner! I replaced the cog with the Shimano 14t Single Speed DX cog, which instantly resolved the issue. The Shimano product is a hundred times better manufactured. The spacers and lock ring seem fine. If you must buy this kit, do yourself a favour and by a Shimano cog to go with it. 10 March 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bon article J'ai installé ce pignon à la place d'un shimano 8 vitesse, ça passe nikel, je pense que c'est un bon achat. 30 September 2010

Yes; these kits are designed to fit on any standard 8/9 speed freehub body, so will fit on a regular Octane One cassette hub.

Answer:
Ideally an 8 or 9-speed chain would be the best option as it has 3/32" spacing which will pair well with these sprockets; a 10-speed is too narrow and will not offer the chain-life expected when using a Single Speed drivetrain.

If the chainline on the bike is straight and inline then it would be best to use the 8-speed chain as the additional flex offered by a 9-speed chain is not required. This will in turn decrease chain wear and the chain will last longer.

Answer:
If the hub has Shimano standard splined body then this will fit.
But, it you use smaller BMX only body, then this will not fit.
