Introducing Five Ten's new Stealth Contact outsole that allows you to pull, push and adjust, the new Freerider Vxi is designed for casual all-mountain flat pedal riders to the aggressive downhill racer. Riders will instantly understand the advantage of the new Contact outsole that's treadless under the foot's ball for float. The new Freerider Vxi has a breathable, abrasion-resistant upper, a new performance-fit, and an asymmetrical welt that provides extra crank-side durability.

Stealth outsoles, ideal for mountain biking shoes because it absorbs far more shock than traditional rubber outsoles. The high friction rubber is also designed for durability

Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME! These shoes offer sooo much grip. the pins of the pedal seem to sink into the flat part of the sole and lock. i wouldn't say it was easy to push and pull to re - position your feet but that may be because they are new. i used to ride the impacts but find that the freeriders make it easier to find a comfortable position for your feet. as opposed to the impacts, the freeriders are light and narrow reducing the liklihood of crank rub. the only bad thing about these freeriders are that they are hard to walk with on slippery surfaces (i.e mud). 20 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb allrounder Firstly i wear 8.5 to 9 in almost all my trainers. I bought 43 euro and these fit perfectly well. I have the Elements versions of these also and i bought these as the Elements are a little toasty in warmer weather. These are not dissimilar in design and materials, with only the toe area having any real difference with a fabric area instead of the waterproofed material on the Elements, However it does make a difference, these are cooler than the Elements. I wear these all day, find them suitable for longish mtb rides, 4- 6 hours or so. That said if you're doing long technical rides they have a flexible sole which makes them exceptionally grippy on the downhills and on the technical uphills, but they can tire your feet out on particular longer xc rides, which admittedly is not their primary design brief. 05 June 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid connection to pedals Comfortable shoes that give a solid connection to the pedals. The stealth soles live up to their awesome reputation and the grip and connection has to be experienced to be believed. Sizes are true to sizing so ordering online is not a risk. Great MTB shoes, do yourself a favour! 02 June 2014
