Ever since I got this pair of shoes, my feet have never left my pedals! Be it thru a rock garden, catching some air or just plain wet weather, these shoes are the stickiest I've ever tried and used! No more pedal pin shin hits and no more slips, I kid you not!
My first pair lasted past 2 years before the front bit started peeling. Nothing some aftermarket stitching can't fixed but to be safe, I got myself another pair!
You can't go wrong with these!

these are my first 5-10 and they rock , grippy for dh, warm for our winter, even good for hiking ! Canadian winter are rigorous test for shoes, especially the salt they put in streets to melt down ice. Its extremely corrosive for shoes and usually destroyed them fast,5-10 still hold pretty well! Will order more of them for sure!

I have worn goretex/Event/vibram soled hiking boots for winter XC and DH tracks for as long as i can remember i bought these after my last pair died and reading how good the impacts are,,,, well, for the price i cant say i am impressed, a good hiking boot may not look as 'cool' but they far out perfom the 5-10 impact in my opinion and they offer as much protection are usualy waterproof AND breathable and have equaly grippy soles that work on ALL surfaces.
these boots are no good for british winter. the boots soak a lot of water up because of the large foam tongue/ankle padding and take a long time to dry out. i tried to wear sealskins but had to take the insole out for a bit of extra room as the sealskinz are bulky. as a result the cardboard inner sole has started to rot, never had this problem with hiking boots with a gore membrane.
i bought the boots in summer and after about 4 weeks of weekend rides they started to smell as they do not seem to have any ventilation or anti bacterial qualities unlike gore or Event hiking boots
the sole is too grippy on flat pedals,,, sounds silly ?,,,, you wont be laughing when you lose a foot on a rocky DH track and struggle to get it back in the right place, throwing you off balance as you try or loosing you seconds in a race.
the sole has no grip at all if your pushing up your typical british (muddy) dh track so you end up wasting a lot of energy and time trying to get back to the top.hiking boots are built for this type of terrain.
the boot is a good wide and comfy fit,,, thats the only positive i can find for them. i wont be buying another pair.

the only fault with these boots is they are definetely not for wet weather they let the slightest splashes in i will be going back to the shimanos after these wear out though as for cost there way better imho.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Excellent A***** shoe for "MUni"!
Theses Hi Impact 2s are amazing. I had done a good deal of research on a pair of tough shoes/boots for MUni (Mountain Unicycling) and the over whelming consensus regarding a brand: Five Ten - with serval models being recommended. I was tempted to go with the Karvers, but I am so glad I didn't (maybe for a more summery riding experience) however, the 'hi' sides do provide that essential bit of ankle support - it is very support and not as heavy a boot as I had thought/feared it would be. The pedal grip is good, and not over sticky... just firm and makes a major impact of ride-assertiveness. Ankle protecting for MUni is for me pretty important, even if it is just a bit of psychology reassurance. Theses are also pretty pleasant to just walk around in and don't look as terrible as all that! - If you MUnicycle, go buy these - your riding with go up to a whole new level. Cheers, CRC!

These are MOONBOOTS. Coming from SPD's to these is amazing.
They are huge, comfi and you can climb walls if you so desire.
Work great with DMR's or any other grippy ped's.
