Fizik Aliante Gamma XM K:ium Saddle

The Aliante Gamma XM is 1 of fi’zi:k’s 3 Spine Concept™ MTB Saddle shapes. Of these 3, the Aliante shape is the widest and most longitudinally waved.

Differences over its Road Saddle counterpart:

  • More rounded at the front and rear for ease of getting over the front or back.
  • Wider nose
  • More padded nose, including gel
  • Dipped nose
  • Kevlar-reinforced rear panel protects the cover from the wear and tear associated with MTB'ing

Aliante Gamma is for The Bull: Rigid Spine.

  • If you have a relatively low degree of spinal flexibility (more than 90 degrees between your straight legs and back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a Bull. Your degree of Spinal flexibility will top out quite quickly when attempting to adopt the performance position. For this reason you will rotate you pelvis fully.
  • You will benefit from the increased curvature (support) of the Aliante shape.

Specifications:

  • Shell: Nylon Carbon Reinforced with Twin Flex™ ‘sweet spot’ at the centre
  • Rail: K:ium
  • Scuff guards on either side towards rear of saddle
  • Integrated Clip System: Yes
  • Length: 270mm
  • Width: 140mm
  • Weight: 259g

Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfy, but not cheap I have tried loads of different saddles looking for 'the one'. According to the Fizik website I am a bull and this is the saddle I should use. Seems they are right - 45min seated climb last night and no 'numb nuts' as I normally get. Very happy! Don't see the amazing quality for the price though. 28 February 2013
