Fizik Kurve Saddle

Those with less flexibility are not able to easily accomplish the high performance cycling position. To reach this position the pelvis rotates forward dramatically forcing the hips back. In this position, the rider's weight is directed to the genital area.

Specifications:

  • Wingflex sides allows free thigh movement
  • Reflex base technology
  • 7 x 9mm Oval Alloy Mobius Rail
  • 265 x 146mm
  • Weight: 220g

Technologies:

Saddle comfort is usually given by the shape and foam on top of the base. With Kurve the comfort is given by the base and the surrounding elements.

  • RE:FLEX: Re:Flex constructed base of all Kurve saddles, are sensory receptors, responding the body's every twist and turn. The Re:Flex construction is made around thermoplastic composite materials which are layered to provide superior support and comfort. The benefits of Re:Flex are the saddle follows very movement of our sitting contact points and so optimizes the interaction you have with your Kurve saddle.
  • WING FLEX™: The Wing Flex™ shell flexes downward in the critical area where the inner thighs contact the saddle. Whether the rider has big or small thighs, or a wide or narrow pelvis, the saddle adapts perfectly to the rider.
  • MOBIUS RAIL™: The design of the Kurve saddle employs a new type of aluminum supporting rail, The Mobius Rail™. Mobius is a circular rail construction that has no beginning and no end. Made from cold forged 2014-T6 alloy aluminum it provides the rail and shell with greater flexibility and support. Unlike a traditional saddle rail, the potential pressure points caused by the rail insertion areas are eliminated.
  • TUNER: Tuner is an interchangeable tension system, which allows the rider to customize their level of Re:Flex. There are 2 tuner tension levels: slack and rigid (or soft and hard). The rider can personalize the saddle tension by simply changing the nose mounted clip-on insert.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not fit majority of seat posts Tried to mount it on RS reverb seatpost. Don't fit. Saddle rails are 2 mm narrower than seat rail clamp. Other saddles with 7X9 rails fits reverb with no issues. No official compatibility guide available on the fizik web page. Nice quest - thanks fizik! 29 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by So far so good At full price this seems to be an enormous amount of money for a saddle, at discounted price it is still not cheap, however I looked into it a bit and decide to go for it. 'Ive teamed it up with the Fizik Cyrano carbon seatpost. There is a very noticeable difference in ride comfort. it feels like i've put some 28mm tyres on the bike, smooth and soaks up the bumps. I have the chameleon and it's a good shape with room to move about. After some fine tuning with position it is comfortable and certainly no numb nuts syndrome so far. The white looks fantastic and the tilt adjustment is a lot easier than other saddles. 15 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant product…well made..oozes quality I have "lusted" after a Kurve saddle for ages…seen them as much as £200, but once CR had them at these prices it was simply just selecting the right one…then the JULY15 deal made it under a ton!!!! Brilliant value, and as usual CR service 2nd to none 08 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 First ride of 175 miles in a day was super comfy Used for the first time on a 175 mile 1 day sportive and remained comfortable for the whole ride. Had the old one packed just in case to swap at the halfway point but wasn't required 31 May 2014

Answer:
Unfortunately not; the rails on the Kurve saddle is flared and ovalised with a cross beam which gets in the way of the Xlab bracket, so this wing will not fit correctly.

Answer:
I have had issues mounting the X-wing super lab onto this saddle as the rails curve at the back and are also thicker. It fitted fine on my previous Fizik Aliante saddle. Potentially if you find wider and deeper fasteners that come with the X-wing then this would secure it in a more forward position on the rails, but I haven't been able to find any that fit yet

Seat clamp

I went to replace my existing and worn Fizik saddle with my new Kurve this morning, but the clamp does not fit the new saddle? I assumed that clamp would be a standard fit? Am I missing something?

Answer:
As the rails are oval on this saddle it will require a clamp which can handle the taller rails.

You could purchase a new seatpost, but an easier option would be to visit your local hardware store with the bolts currently on your seatpost and try to find longer bolts should this be the issue.

If there is a different reason for the saddle not fitting then please contact our Technical Department below -> http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/...
