FSA Gimondi Single Speed Chainset

Hi, I'm a bit naive to bike components, does a chain set (FSA Gimondi Single Speed Chain set specifically) come with both crank arms as well as the chain ring? I assumed it does but not much is shown on the picture.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards
Jon.

Answer:
Yes this listing comes supplied with both crankarms and a chainring; the bottom bracket is supplied separately and is relative to the frame it will be mounted onto.

For more information on the fitting; please drop us an email to the Technical Department with more information on the intended frame -

BB suggestion

Hi, I'm currently running 9-speed drive train with triple crankset (3x9 system) with 73mm BB shell (English thread), and I would like to convert it to a 1x9 system utilizing this crankset. What BB size (spindle length) would you suggest to run this crankset with a 73mm BB shell and around 50mm chainline? Thanks.

Answer:
The Gimondi chainset is built to run a 45mm chainline on a square taper axle of around 110mm. The UN55 bracket (linked below) should be fine. To run a chainline closer to 49/50mm you could opt for a wider axle, such as the 70x115mm version

BB - arm length - chain

Hi, I have an old mountain bike (Marin Eldridge Grade - steel frame) from around 95 that I’ve restored and converted to ss whit a lot of high end parts, except from the bb (some kind of noname Taiwan stuff), will the FSA Gimondi fit a squared 68/113.

How do I determine what arm length to order?

I ordered a spank tweet half link chain (some years ago, OrderID: 8368016), I’m not sure if this is a 3/32" chain that you recommend?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

Answer:
You can determine the crank length by simply measuring from the centre of the pedal insert to the centre of the axle (image below).
The Spank Half-Link chain is almost certainly a 1/8" single speed chain, and should work fine on this chainset. The internal width is the only difference between a 1/8" and 3/32" chain so you can use a 3/32" chain on a single speed setup as well if you wish.
