FSA Orbit 1.5 ZS Tapered Steerer

Tapered headsets are a combination of the other styles. Usually a tapered steerer tube will have a 1 or 1.5” lower diameter, and a 1 1/8” upper diameter. The headsets for these frames & forks can be any combination of traditional, internal, or integrated headsets. It is very important to accurately measure the inner diameter of the headtube top and bottom to narrow down the headset model needed. In some cases, Tapered headtubes can be used with a straight 1 1/8” steerer tube if a reducing headset race is used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Impressed I ordered this headset as a direct replacement for the one that come on my bike, I ordered exactly what the manufacturer specified they installed on the product from factory. When I received the product and opened it, I was genuinely shocked. It was like fine art compared to the junk that I pulled off of the bike "graffiti on the wash room wall". I am not sure what happened there. Sealed, tapered bearings, nicely machined cups and races, not stamped. If you need a headset with these dimensions, this will not let you down. Very happy that I did not re-use factory headset when installing new fork. 25 July 2014

Answer:
nope, the top cap is the last piece to go on, it sits on top of the headset and you tighten it down with the nut running through it. thus securing the whole stem/headset assembly the bit with FSA written on it goes on top of the headset bearing crown and under the stem, and is used to help protect from elements and compress the headset when you tighten everything down

Answer:
The best option is simply to remove your existing headset and measure the internal diameter of your headtube. This headset is for a 44mm upper and 56mm lower to run a tapered steerer fork.

Answer:
This headset suits a headtube running an internal diameter of 44mm at the top and 56mm at the bottom. The Meta AM 2012 ran this size of headset, so it should be fine.

Answer:
Yes, this is fine to replace a 57E; you can remove your existing headset and double check the headtube internal diameters (44mm upper and 56mm lower).
