Rated 5 out of 5 by Muy bueno Producto de muy buena calidad. Muy interesante para mantener bicis con pedalier antiguo actualizadas. 02 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by good price great product good solid chainset from fsa. comes standard on a lot of bikes so proves its reliable.have done just over 3500 miles on mine without any problems. looks good and runs smooth 29 August 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not Shimano BB compatible The big problem I had was that they wouldn't seat correctly on my Shimano bottom bracket (which was odd as I'd bought them to replace identical worn out OEM version). In the end I had to switch the outer 50 tooth chainring to my old crank, which thankfully worked. I have just read in another review that you need a JIS bottom bracket (whatever that may be!). It is a shame that this critical specification isn't mentioned anywhere as knowing this would have saved me a lot of bother! Other than this problem the chainset appeared of high quality and had a nice finish. The outer chainring (the only bit I've used) worked flawlessly with my 9-speed SRAM chain. 30 December 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value upgrade for a training bike For the price, I think you get a great bit of kit. Obviously not as light or strong as a carbon crankset, but then for £60 you can't complain at all. Cranks feel fine under heavy load and the black/machined aluminium looks great. I'd say this is the perfect replacement part for a winter/training bike. My only gripe with it is that Garmin's cadence magnet is a bit hard to attach to it, as the back side of the crank is hollowed out and this makes it slightly awkward to put onto the crank arm. It does go on though. 25 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value FSA cranks Bought these for an advanced young rider in length 165mm. JIS square taper is what Shimano use so its pretty common and easy to match with a Bottom Bracket. I searched for a long time to find a cost effective solution for a growing lad and these cranks are perfect. I'm glad we bought the black ones as they look very swish on his bike matching the black carbon forks. The cranks actually look allot more expensive than they are when on the bike matched with 9 speed 105/Ultegra level bike. I just wish I could buy the FSA Alpha drive MTB cranks in 165mm from CRC. FSA are listening to the demand for shorter cranks at an entry to mid level. Well done FSA and CRC! 11 October 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by good the chainset is good apart from the fact that you have to use a JIS bb instead of an ISO. 12 July 2012

Answer:
These square taper cranks should fit a standard UN55 bracket yes (68x107mm or 70x107mm). They are suitable for use on 9 or 10 speed systems so should work ok with your Xenon derailleur/ shifters.

Answer:
The recommended spindle length recommended by FSA is 103mm but this is really depending on chainline; which would give a chainline of 43.5mm.

For more advice on that setup to be running, please supply the required chainline that you are wanting to our Technical Department below and we can take it from there -

Answer:
10 speed runs a slightly narrower chain and shifting profile than 8/9sp, so running your 8sp chain on a 10sp chainset will likely return a little chain noise, and shifting may not be as efficient as with a dedicated 10sp setup.

Answer:
Due to this crankset being intended for a 10-speed drivetrain; running it with an older 7-speed drivetrain would not be efficient or mechanically compatible.

The variation in chain width will cause the narrow 10-speed chainring teeth to eat into the chain and it will not shift effectively.

The bottom bracket is not included on this chainset. You will need a square taper one like, for example, the "Shimano UN55 Square Taper Bottom Bracket".

suggestion for BB spindle length

Hi, I would like to install this chainset on my hybrid that comes with 73mm BB shell. Do you have any suggestions regarding the BB (spindle length) for 50mm chain line? Thanks.

Hi, I have an old road bike with a JIS square taper BB and 110mm spindle. Some online sites show these cranks as compatible with 110mm spindle (Not 110mm PCD) but you say best with 103mm or 108.

Can you please confirm which is correct?

Answer:
The spindle length required will be influenced by the chainline of your particular frame.

The general sized used for a double chainset would be 108mm or 110mm.
