Look, the boa closure system works well. The shoe is light and comfortable. My big difficulty with it though is that I can't get the Shimano SPD cleats far enough back on the shoe to put the ball of my foot over the pedal axle - to my satisfaction anyway.
I've been weaned on Sidi Genius shoes and the main reason I bought the Gaerne shoes was the boa closure system. Little did I think that changing shoe manufacturer would affect the limits of where I could put the cleats on the shoe.

Without you trying them on, no one can say whether they will fit perfectly. Gaerne shoes do have a tendency to be a little on the tight side and people from other reviews have said that it is a good idea to buy a full size up from your normal shoe size. But until you try them on, you won't know.
